Beauty Hack: Blush & Bronzer on the Eyes
Have you ever woke up for work one morning just too tired to deal? You want to get out of bed but you’re too tired to move. Then you finally get up, hit the bathroom and then stare at the makeup you’re still too tired to use. I get it girl! I’ve been there, done that. Hell, I’ve done it so much that I’ve started looking for little ways to cut time from my morning routine so I could sleep in just a little while longer and do my makeup a little bit faster.
My latest morning beauty hack is simple but mind-blowing because I can’t believe I haven’t thought about it before. Instead of using eyeshadow in the morning, try using a little of your blush and bronzer on the eyes for a quick, natural look that requires almost no effort. On a normal day, I typically skip the eyeshadow because it takes up too much time blending 2-4 colors together for a seamless look. But one day I decided to rock the blush and bronzer I picked out for the day on my eyes and magic was made in less than 10 minutes. I rejoiced!
My blush and bronzer choice of the day happened to be MAC Taraji Glow Mineralize Skinfinish and Makeup Revolution Rock on World Vivid Baked Bronzer. They’re both beautiful shades for brown skin that I’m often reaching for because they look super natural and give me a beautiful sun-kissed look. This particular day, I thought to myself, “Why don’t I just pop these 2 on my lids and call it a day?” Man, what a good idea!
MAC Taraji Glow Mineralize Skinfinish is a warm brick orange with a slight red undertone and satin finish that’s been my go to blush for months now. I love how it adds just the right amount of warmth and color to my cheeks without ever overpowering the rest of my makeup. Now I use Taraji Glow twice as much because it also makes a bomb crease shade. If I want to add a little depth and definition to my look, I can sweep a little Taraji Glow into my crease as a transition shade. Or if I’m going for a simple, everyday look (like early in the morning) I simply blend Taraji Glow into my crease and then pop a little bronzer on top.
My bronzer of choice? The ever so pigmented and sparkly Makeup Revolution Rock on World Vivid Baked Bronzer. It has enough sparkle and glitter to help your cheeks pop without looking too metallic but still enough to dazzle big time on the eyes. Especially when paired with their Aqua Priming Base to intensify it even more. After blending Taraji Glow into my crease, I picked up a bit of Rock on World, spritzed a little Aqua Priming Base on the brush and then patted it all over the lids. Together, the combo created a foiled sparkly bronzy gold effect that looked like a sunset once I lightly blended it into Taraji Glow.
To top off the look, I added my signature wing liner and the Tarte Goddess false lashes as well as highlighted my inner corner with a little Casablanca from the Juvia’s Place Mini Masquerade Palette. I also lined my bottom lids with the Urban Decay Rail 24/7 Waterline Eye Pencil and then used the Armani Eccentrico Mascara on my bottom lashes to help them pop. Of course, I also swept Taraji Glow and Rock on World on the cheeks to compliment my eyes. The entire look took me about 15 minutes to create before I was out the door. If you’re always pressed on time (or rest) in the mornings then I recommend trying this simple beauty hack to get you through it way faster!
