Estee Lauder Pure Color Love Lipstick Swatches
Love it or hate it, millennials are taking over and brands are starting to notice! I’m loving this new millennial-centric rush (especially in the beauty community) because it’s forcing brands to be more innovative and creative. Gone are the days of die hard customers that only use one brand of makeup for the rest of their days. Millennials ain’t having that! We like to switch things up. We embrace change. We may love one foundation one day and then love a completely different one the next. That’s just how millennials roll!
And if you ask me, it’s about time that brands like Estee Lauder has jumped on the wave. For decades, Estee Lauder has always been the go to high end makeup brand for women with mature skin. So they’ve always used older spokesmodels and stuck to creating classic, staple products that are practical–never trendy. For a while, this approach worked because there were still plenty of die hard Estee Lauder fans holding on for dear life. But as newer brands popped up on the scene with flashy, trendy new products for millennials to snatch up in seconds it became clear that Estee Lauder needed to shake things up a bit.
I’m not gonna lie. I rolled my eyes a bit when Estee Lauder first announced that Kendall Jenner would be the brand’s spokesperson but I’m starting to see where they’re going with this. Within the last few years, Estee Lauder has slowly transformed their classic, iconic brand into a millennial oasis that caters to all makeup junkies. From the die hard ladies who still wear “pancake base” and “rogue” to the trendy YouTuber willing to try anything, Estee Lauder has something special for you!
Estee Lauder’s latest release, the Pure Color Love Lipsticks, are a millennial makeup lovers dream because they’re pigmented, easy to apply, smooth, creamy and long lasting. Yes, honey, the Estee Lauder Pure Color Love Lipsticks has it all! The line features 30 shades in 4 finishes including: Creme, Chrome, Shimmer and Matte. So whether you love red, pink, purple or grey, Estee Lauder is bound to have a shade for you with the Pure Color Love Lipsticks!
I own 8 shades including:
- 140 Naked City peachy beige nude
- 220 Shock and Awe hot fuchsia pink
- 230 Juiced Up mid-tone plum
- 400 Rebel Glam bright candy pink
- 420 Up Beet deep blackened plum
- 440 Hi-Voltage vibrant magenta
- 450 Orchid Infinity mid-tone berry wine
- 480 Nova Noir sheer blackened violet with purple shimmer
The Pure Color Love Lipsticks come housed in the most luxurious clear diamond-like packaging with regal metallic silver tubes that have a nice weight to them without feeling too heavy. Even the cut of the lipstick has a luxurious feel as its blunt cut head on instead of a traditional slanted tip. The result is more coverage with less work and effort. Who doesn’t want that?!
The sharp square bullet makes it easy to line and fill your lips for a clean, crisp look that’s pretty and polished without the lip pencil. At first, I thought the blunt cut would feel a bit awkward and end up being hard to apply but the shape actually makes the Pure Color Love Lipsticks much easier to maneuver than a regular lipstick because it’s so precise. I actually dig the bullet shape a lot!
The Estee Lauder Pure Color Love Lipsticks aren’t just luxe packaging. These beauties pack a punch too! All of the shades I own (minus Nova Noir) is intensely pigmented and glides across my lips with a buttery, creamy texture that’s very comfortable to wear from start to finish. So far, I’ve tried a Matte, Creme and Shimmer shade and I’ve pretty much enjoyed the formula all around. The Matte and Creme formulas are incredibly easy to apply as they offer medium to full coverage with a single swipe and feel great on the lips. Nova Noir (Shimmer) felt nice on the lips too but it’s a bit sheer and the glitter seems to make it a bit patchy so it takes a few extra layers for Nova Noir to look its best. Which, honestly, isn’t that bad. You’d think the Pure Color Love Lipsticks would cost an arm and a leg like most high end lipsticks but these beauties will only set you back $22 a pop. If you ask me, I think the Estee Lauder Pure Color Love Lipsticks are going to be a huge hit this summer. If you haven’t already, I recommend dropping by your local Ulta store to check them out first!
