Fenty Beauty Full Face Look + Faves!

Rihanna dropped the Fenty Beauty bomb a month ago and I’m still reeling with excitement! The entire Fenty Beauty line just does something to me. It’s really good! I walked into Sephora wanting everything. And came pretty close to spending my little heart (and my poor boyfriend’s wallet) clean out. However, I managed to escape the Fenty Beauty madness with just a handful of goodies. You can check out my picks with swatches here.

It didn’t take me long before I was cracking open boxes and ready to play. Fenty Beauty full face, here I come! Yes, you read that right. I created an entire look using my Fenty Beauty picks. You can see them all in action above in my Fenty Beauty Full Face Tutorial above!

For my Fenty Beauty full face tutorial, I used pretty much all of my picks with the exception of Metal Moon. Here’s the complete rundown on what I used:

Fenty Beauuty Match Stix Trio in Deep: Suede, Espresso, Sinamon Swatches on Dark Skin, Brown Skin WOC

Match Stix Trio in Deep ($54)

I had my heart set on just the foundation, gloss and Trophy Wife Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter. But snatched up the Match Stix Trio in Deep at the last minute. I was so intrigued by the color choices. Rihanna nailed this set! I’m a contour queen who’s tried a variety of contour palettes and sets. Most times there’s a shade or two (or more) that doesn’t work with my skin tone. Leave it to Rihanna to get it right!

The Match Stix Trio in Deep is a perfect match for me! It features 3 shades to highlight and contour including:

  • Suede (matte highlight)
  • Espresso (matte contour)
  • Sinamon (shimmer highlight)

Suede is the perfect concealer shade for me as it highlights the high points of my face without looking ashy or blending in. Sinamon is also a stunning highlight that actually layers well and gives a beautiful glow. Espresso works like a charm, too, giving me sleek, chiseled cheeks with little effort.

The beauty advisor at Sephora warned me that the Match Stix Matte Skin Sticks (like Suede and Espresso) can be a bit a bit dry. And she was kinda right. Suede tugged a bit under my eyes upon application. However, once the formula was all warmed up on my skin Suede began to glide on smoothly and blend like butter. I love this stuff! I was expecting the Match Stix Matte Skin Stick formula to be a little too dry for my desert under eyes but it’s quickly become one of my favorites. Surprisingly, Suede didn’t look dry on me nor it did it seem to crease into my fine lines much. Score!

Fenty Beauty Killawatt HIghlighter in Ginger Binge / Moscow Mule Swatches on Dark Skin Brown Skin WOC

Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter Duo in Ginger Binge / Moscow Mule ($34)

Everyone went crazy over Trophy Wife but Ginger Binge / Moscow Mule is a gem too! The Ginger Binge / Moscow Mule Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter is a wonderful choice for brow skin. It’s a coppery rose gold duo that adds a little color and customizable glow. You can keep it natural and subtle with Ginger Binge. Or blind everyone in the room with Moscow Mule. The choice is yours! The cool part? You can also use Rihana’s Killawatt Freestyle Highlighters as eyeshadow too! I patted a bit of Moscow Mule on top of Sinamon Match Stix for this look and the result was gorgeous! Moscow Mule seriously popped with it’s chunky glitter and was a breeze to apply.

Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Long Wear Foundattion in 420 Swatches on Dark Skin Brown Skin WOC

Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Long Wear Foundation in 420 ($34)

Rihanna had us all shook when she dropped 40 shades of foundation on us. But it’s not jus the color range that’s impressive! The formula of Fenty Beauty’s Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Long Wear Foundation is quite good too. It offers buildable medium coverage with a soft matte finish that looks incredibly natural. I’ve tried the Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Long with different primers and tools with great results each time. I find that the Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Long Wear Foundation works best on my dry  skin when I use a hydrating primer underneath like Too Faced Hangover Primer. I also discovered that the Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Long Wear Foundation works well with either a sponge or a brush. It depends on the coverage you’d prefer. A damp sponge works best for light coverage while a brush (like ELF’s Powder Brush) is better for more coverage.

Is the Fenty Beauty collection worth it?

Absolutely! I’m quite impressed with everything I’ve purchased so far. The quality is definitely there and it is evident that Fenty Beauty was well thought out and executed. I can’t wait to review everything for you guys!
