Makeup Revolution Ulta Beauty Haul Swatches on Dark Skin

New Makeup Revolution Goodies + Swatches!

Everyone loves a good dupe right? Well saddle up! I’ve got some nice ones for ya! Makeup Revolution is a UK-based drugstore brand that recently landed an exclusive spot at Ulta Beauty. They’re notorious for duping popular high end products from brands like Too Faced, Kat Von D and more. Sometimes they’re a hit. Sometimes they’re a miss. I’ve been having pretty good luck with Makeup Revolution so I picked up a few of their latest dupes to try out.

Makeup Revolution Srobe Highlighter Gold Addict Holographic Light Swatches on Dark Skin

Strobe Highlighter

The stunning Laura Mercier Face Illuminators have been giving me chills for months now. But the $44 price tag always makes me put it off until the “next big purchase”. Then it never happens. So I lost my marbles when I spotted the new Makeup Revolution Strobe Highlighters at Ulta.

The Strobe Highlighters look identical to the Laura Mercier Face Illuminators. I had to try them! I picked up 2 shades including: Holographic Lights and Gold Addict. Holographic Lights is incredibly unique that swatches with a green-gold subtle duochrome effect. It’s absolutely beautiful on brown skin! Gold Addict, on the other hand, is more of your typical warm gold highlighter. Nothing unique but always good to have in your stash.

I can’t compare the formulas since I’ve never tried the Face Illuminators. However, I’m quite impressed with the Makeup Revolution Strobe Highlighters so far! They’re nicely pigmented with a soft, smooth texture that’s very easy to blend. The glow is more on the natural side so it’s a great formula for everyday wear. Or you can build it up if you love a dramatic highlight.

Makeup Revolution Lip Amplification Lip Gloss Lip Euphoria Liquid Lipstick Conviction Limitless Karma Swatches on Dark Skin

Lip Euphoria & Lip Ammunition

Makeup Revolution recently added more lippies to the Ulta Beauty lineup this year. And I’m kinda diggin’ them! I tried 2 new formulas including the Lip Euphoria Liquid Lipstick and Lip Ammunition Lip Gloss. I was expecting the Lip Euphoria to be more like a traditional matte liquid lipstick. However, it turned out to be a high-pigment lip lacquer. Very similar to the Lip Ammunition formula. Just with less shine.

I tried the Lip Euphoria Liquid Lipstick and think it’s just okay. The formula is comfortable to wear but it creates that yucky line between your lips after a few hours. On the other hand, the Lip Ammunition Lip Glosses were a hit! They’re creamy, intensely pigmented and wear nicely too!

I grabbed the shades:

  • Karma beige pink nude (Lip Euphoria)
  • Conviction blackened eggplant (Lip Ammunition)
  • Limitless smoky slate grey (Lip Ammunition)

Makeup Revolution Skin Kiss Highlighter Peach Kiss Golden Kiss Swatches on Dark Skin

Skin Kiss Highlighter

Want a more intense glow? Then you’ll certainly prefer the Skin Kiss Highlighter over the Strobe Highlighter. Ironically. The Skin Kiss Highlighter looks like a super close dupe for the Instagram-famous Ofra Highlighter. Again, I can’t compare the formulas but the packaging is pretty much spot on. Making the Makeup Revolution Skin Kiss Highlighter a nice dupe. With some serious glow! The Skin Kiss Highlighters give off a more wet, dripping gold kind of highlight. Which means they’re not for the faint of heart! I picked up 2 shades including: Peach Kiss, a peachy pink with silver shimmer, and Golden Kiss, a warm yellow gold with golden shimmer. Both shades look beautiful on brown skin and are complete winners for an Instagram worthy glow!

Makeup Revolution Ultra Eye Contour Light + Shade Eyeshadow Palette Swatches on Dark Skin

Ultra Eye Contour Light + Shade Eyeshadow Palette

People don’t always like dupes. It sounds crazy but it’s true. Makeup Revolution caught a lot of slack when they released the Ultra Eye Contour Light + Shade Eyeshadow Palette. An almost exact replica of the famous Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye Contour Palette. Things got a little sticky because Makeup Revolution didn’t change much at all from the layout to the color scheme. The Ultra Eye Contour Light + Shade Eyeshadow Palette is almost identical to the original Kat Von D palette.

This was a little much for some people.

And I get it. Kat Von D did set the makeup world on fire when she first debuted the Shade + Light Eye Contour Palette. It was a unique and innovative palette for its time. So it is a bit shady that Makeup Revolution ripped it off completely. However, I’m not complaining because the Ultra Eye Contour Light + Shade Eyeshadow Palette is dupe gold! The shadows are surprisingly very pigmented and rather soft for an all matte drugstore palette. I’m curious to see how the quality turns out!

Have you tried Makeup Revolution before? Let me know what you’ve tried!
