Dior DiorSkin Nude Air Serum Foundation Swatches + Review

Hey guys! Sorry for taking a hiatus! My laptop and phone both crashed within the same week. Leaving me pretty much hopeless in terms of working on new content. But I’m back! And I’m bringing plenty of reviews and swatches! One of my many resolutions this year is to be more consistent with you guys. I know I’ve been talking your ear off about the Dior DiorSkin Nude Air Serum Foundation for years. But it didn’t hit me until just now that I haven’t fully reviewed one of my all time favorite foundations for you. So here it is!

Dior is Pure Luxury

Dior is known for their couture fashion and luxury beauty. So it’s no surprise that their products are a little pricey. Including the DiorSkin Nude Air Serum Foundation. It comes with a hefty $53 price tag but it’s well worth the money! The DiorSkin Nude Air Serum Foundation is infused with a serum (of course) with skin-loving ingredients including cranberry oil, vitamins and minerals to nourish skin and cover imperfections.

The packaging is simple and chic yet still incredibly luxurious. The DiorSkin Nude Air Serum Foundation comes in a thick, sturdy glass bottle with a dropper applicator. It feels like it costs a million bucks without being super fragile. Which I like a lot. I’ve packed this beauty on many vacations and its survived through both my cluttered makeup bag and my banged up checked luggage. Thanks, Spirit.

Coverage & Finish

Dior prefers to take a more natural approach. So the DiorSkin Nude Air Serum Foundation isn’t some full coverage wonder foundation. Instead, the DiorSkin Nude Air Serum Foundation is more of a lightweight, airy formula for ladies and gents who want more natural-looking coverage without feeling like a mask. The DiorSkin Nude Air Serum Foundation offers sheer to buildable medium coverage with a silky semi-velvet matte finish that seriously looks like skin.

I always find myself coming back to the DiorSkin Nude Air Serum Foundation because it’s a superb everyday foundation. I can use 1-3 drops for light coverage to even my complexion in a pinch. Or I can apply 3-6 drops for a more full coverage look that makes my skin look like airbrushed porcelain.

The soft, velvet matte finish took me by surprise at first. You’d expect a serum foundation to be hydrating with a dewy finish. Right? Dior took a completely different approach with the DiorSkin Nude Air Serum. And I kinda dig it! The velvet matte finish allows the DiorSkin Nude Air Serum Foundation to be suitable for all skin types. Including dry and oily skin. The formula isn’t drying or too matte so it works well with my dry skin. On the other hand, the formula still works with oily skin too because it helps to nourish skin (thanks to the infused serum) so you get some nice oil control too along with the matte finish.

Application is a Breeze with DiorSkin Nude Air Serum Foundation!

Certain foundations can be a bit tricky to apply. Not the DiorSkin Nude Air Serum Foundation! I’ve had great success applying this foundation with my fingers, makeup sponge and foundation brushes. I prefer to use a brush though because the DiorSkin Nude Air Serum Foundation is very fluid. Almost like water. So it can be messy to apply with your fingers and sponges can soak up too much product. I definitely recommend using a nice dense synthetic brush to give you the most coverage and smoothest finish.

Does the DiorSkin Nude Air Serum Foundation last? Wear well?

Yes and yes! Despite the ultra-lightweight formula, DiorSkin Nude Air Serum Foundation lasts me through long work days without touchups. My skin still looks velvety smooth by the end of the day. Unlike most serum foundations, this beauty doesn’t separate or start to look oily or greasy. So I still look just as flawless at the end of my day as I did when I left the house. My only gripe with the DiorSkin Nude Air Serum Foundation is that it starts to crease into my smile lines by the end of the day. An issue I face with all matte foundations. So it’s not a deal breaker for me. However, I do recommend priming well and setting with a good powder if you have fine lines to prevent creasing.

But that Shade Range though..

If there’s one thing I would change about the DiorSkin Nude Air Serum Foundation it would be the shade range. It’s abysmal for deeper skin tones. And I can’t stand it. Granted, it’s a more sheer formula designed to let a bit of your natural skin peek through. So the shade range is quite small overall featuring just 8 shades. However, it’s still a bit shady that there’s only 2 shades for women of color. I expected Dior to have beefed up the Diorskin Nude Air Serum range by now.

I wear the shade 060 Mocha. Which happens to be the darkest shade in the range. It’s so disappointing because I’m not even that dark. Ufortunately, chocolate cuties won’t be able to enjoy this foundation. You might have better luck if you’re a little lighter than me. Ultimately, you’ll want to check this foundation out in person before you buy it. Especially if you’re a dark skin diva!

Is the DiorSkin Nude Air Serum Foundation right for me?

This isn’t the foundation for you if you love that full coverage, ultra glam look. The DiorSkin Nude Air Serum Foundation is all about skin looking like skin. This foundation is ideal for people who don’t want a lot of coverage or don’t like to “feel” their makeup. It’s an airy, weightless foundation that’s meant to perfect skin rather than just cover it. If you’re all about healthy, natural looking skin then you’ll probably love the DiorSkin Nude Air Serum Foundation! If you can fit within the shade range, of course. You can find it at your local Sephora or Dior counter for $53.
