The Affordable Dupe

The Rimmel Magnif’Eyes Spice Edition Palette isn’t unique. But it’s a wonderful affordable take on higher end palettes like Urban Decay Naked Heat and Tarte Tartelette Toasted. You’re just paying under $10 versus $40+.

Big score, right?

Damn, right! Because the Magnif’Eyes Spice Edition Palette isn’t some dusty, chalky pain in the ass palette. She’s solid. She’s pigmented, silky smooth and blends surprisingly well for an $8 palette.

Excellent Quality for the Price!

I’ll be honest. I’ve never tried Rimmel’s shadows before. I was expecting them to be decent at best. But the Magnif’Eyes Spice Edition Palette really blew my mind. It swatches and wears beautifully, honey!

The formula is very finely milled. So the shadows feel soft & silky. Even the mattes. The palette is a little on the powdery side. So there’s a bit of fallout. However, I can’t knock it because some high end palettes are powdery too. Like Anastasia Beverly Hills.

I found both the mattes and shimmers to be nicely pigmented. All showing up rather well on my skin tone. I can definitely see this palette working well for most brown skin cuties. My deep dark divas may not get as much range, though.

Naturally, I had to build the mattes a bit for desired intensity. But I feel like that comes with the drugstore palette territory. I appreciate that Rimmel made the formula buildable and easy to blend. So I can layer away for a full on glam. Or keep it soft and subtle for everyday looks.

The formula also wears rather nicely too. I always recommend wearing an eyeshadow primer for best results. I primed my eyes with concealer and translucent powder before applying the Magnif’Eyes Spice Edition Palette and I had great results. I’ve been rocking this look for over 8 hours now and there’s only slight signs of fading.

Definitely a Steal!

The Rimmel Magnif’Eyes Spice Edition Palette is quite impressive for an $8 palette! I think it’s well worth the coin. Especially if you’ve been eyeing some of those higher end palettes out there these days. Save yourself the extra money and treat yourself to some Starbucks, girl!
