Juvia’s Place Nubian 2 Palette Swatches

Juvia's Place Nubian 2 Palette Swatches on Dark Skin

Can’t get enough of Juvia’s Place? Me either, girl! Juvia’s Place isn’t exactly new to the makeup scene. Juvia’s Place recently exploded on social media making it the hottest brand for palettes on the market. And for good reason! Her palettes are extremely addictive! I first fell in love with the Mini Masquerade Palette and quickly went back for the Saharan Eyeshadow PaletteSaharan Blush Palette and the Nubian 2 Palette. You know it’s good when you double back three times!

Summer is all about bright, bold colors! So it’s no surprise that Juvia’s Place is completely dominating this season with their extremely bold, colorful palettes. Juvia’s Place (an amazing BOMB) specializes in making stunning African-themed palettes designed to pop on chocolate cuties. I first fell in love with the brand when I took a chance on the Mini Masquerade Palette and was completely blown away by the quality. Since then, I’ve added a few more Juvia’s Place palettes to my collection. Including the stunning Saharan Eyeshadow Palette. It’s perfect for summer!

Urban Decay x Jean-Michael Basquiat Collection Swatches

Urban Decay x Jean-Michael Basquiat Collection Swatches on Dark Skin

Happy Sunday, makeup lovers! Before I jump right in to some Skincare Sunday goodies, I just have to show you the amazing new, limited edition Urban Decay x Jean-Michael Basquiat Makeup As Art Collection. It’s been a long time since I’ve been excited about an Urban Decay collection. The last Urban Decay collection to catch my eye was the Gwen Stefani Collection. Let’s face it. It was pretty and the packaging was cute but it was ultimately a fail for us dark skin divas.

The Jean-Michael Basquiat Collection is something totally different! The Makeup As Art Collection is bold. It’s vibrant. It’s gritty. It’s surreal. It’s edgy. Basically, the Jean-Michael Basquiat Makeup As Art Collection is everything we’ve grown to know and love about Urban Decay before the incessant Naked craze. Don’t get me wrong. I love a good neutral palette and nude lip as much as any makeup junkie. But every now and then, you’ve got to switch things up and add some color, girl!

Happy hump day beauty lovers! It’s been about 2 weeks since I’ve last checked in with you guys and that’s way too long! In the meantime, I’ve got a lot of catching up to do with swatches and reviews! Starting with lots and lots of lipstick and eyeshadow. 🙈

Last month, Too Faced released the Natural Love Collection for Summer 2017 and it was just as girly, frilly and cheesy as I thought it’d be. And I’m loving it all! Sorry guys! I’m a huge girly girl so I can’t help but be mildly obsessed with Too Faced as they’re the reigning beauty queens of all things girly. Including the new limited edition blockbuster Natural Love Eyeshadow Palette that’s been turning heads lately.

Girls love glitter! Don’t ask me why. We just do. We know it’s annoying. We know it’s craft herpes and never goes away once you get it. But we still love it! Be a Unicorn with the Tarte Make Believe in Yourself Collection!

Tarte Make Believe In Yourself Collection Swatches on Dark Skin

Why be basic when you can be a unicorn? The world is going unicorn crazy right now and I’m all for it! Unicorns are magical and majestic. Everything life should be, in my opinion. If I could, I would go around sprinkling glitter and confetti in a unicorn headband, fairy wings and a scepter. Currently, my schedule doesn’t permit such behavior so I’m living out my dreams vicariously through the new limited edition Tarte Make Believe in Yourself Collection. It’s filled with sparkly, glittery unicorn magic that’ll leave you feeling like a glowing mythical creature.

Is the LORAC I Love Brunch Collection Brown Girl Friendly?

LORAC I Love Brunch Collection for Spring 2017 Swatches on Dark Skin

Pastels have always reminded me of Easter. Which is when I intended to post this. Whoops! I’ve been a little under the weather lately but I’m bouncing back. Full force, baby! Anywho! It’s just something about pastel colors that intrigues me and makes me feel like a little girl all over again in my big frilly pale pink and cream dresses with the huge ruffle trim sock on Easter Sunday. Oh how I hated those socks sometimes, but those were the days!

When I first saw the LORAC I Love Brunch Collection, I felt little flutters in my heart and stomach because it took me right back to those days all over again. I could just taste the Easter candies as I cracked open the metallic white boxes filled with pastel eyeshadows, lipstick, glosses and more. Such a yummy, sweet treat!

Fancie Faves

Fancie Faves: NYX Total Control Drop Foundation, Hourglass No. 28 Primer Serum, Algenist Splash Hydrating Setting Spray, Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector, Too Faced Hanvgover Replenishing Primer Review

Happy April! I know I’m a couple days late but the start of a fresh, new month is always a cause to celebrate. Especially when it’s pushing us that much closer to summer. Yaaaaas! Besides sunny skies and fun vibes, I’m pretty pumped about April because there’s a ton of new products and collections rolling out right now and it’s got me bouncing off the walls. You know I’m all about enjoying new makeup!

I actually spent a great deal of March exploring new makeup too. After the dust from the holiday madness finally settled, brands started pumping out stuff left and right and I felt like Ash on a never-ending quest to catch them all. Obviously, I failed, because keeping up with every release is just obsessive. However, I did manage to try a handful of new products that turned out to be so amazing that I’m still reaching for them constantly. Here’s a peek at all the products I loved last month:

Beauty Hack: Blush & Bronzer on the Eyes

MAC Taraji Glow Mineralize Skinfinish and Makeup Revolution Rock on World Vivid Baked Bronzer Swatches on Dark Skin

Have you ever woke up for work one morning just too tired to deal? You want to get out of bed but you’re too tired to move. Then you finally get up, hit the bathroom and then stare at the makeup you’re still too tired to use. I get it girl! I’ve been there, done that. Hell, I’ve done it so much that I’ve started looking for little ways to cut time from my morning routine so I could sleep in just a little while longer and do my makeup a little bit faster.

My latest morning beauty hack is simple but mind-blowing because I can’t believe I haven’t thought about it before. Instead of using eyeshadow in the morning, try using a little of your blush and bronzer on the eyes for a quick, natural look that requires almost no effort. On a normal day, I typically skip the eyeshadow because it takes up too much time blending 2-4 colors together for a seamless look. But one day I decided to rock the blush and bronzer I picked out for the day on my eyes and magic was made in less than 10 minutes. I rejoiced!
