You thought I forgot about Pink Wednesday didn’t you? Nope, girl! I’ve been a little busier than normal but we all need a little pink pick me up from time to time. This week’s pink pick features a few cute goodies from Stila that I received as gratis. I loved how Stila coordinated the pinks all together because I love pink and everything is so girly and cute. Plus who couldn’t use some pink lipstick and blush?

MAC Nutcracker Sweet Collection is Delightfully Adorable

MAC Nutcracker Sweet Copper Compact Swatches on Dark Skin

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! MAC hasn’t exactly wowed me too much during holiday for the last couple years but this year I was all in. MAC really came through with the Nutcracker Sweet Collection! The packaging is beautiful and the colors are perfect for the season. I just couldn’t help myself.

I went from, “I’m just getting this compact I don’t really need.”

Then soon to, “Okay I could use a few more things from this collection.”

Smashbox Light It Up L.A. Lights Palette: Contour. Blush. Highlight. Swatches on Dark Skin

Holiday season is all about impulse buys. Sometimes it just happens. I’ve been trying to keep up with all the new goodies rolling out lately but somehow Smashbox’s holiday lineup almost slipped right by me. Until I walked pass the Smashbox gondola and saw the beautiful Light It up L.A. Lights Palette: Contour. Blush. Highlight. It’s a huge palette that mashes 3 full sized L.A. Lights Blush and Highlight trios together for maximum cheek coverage all season long.

Ulta Holiday Haul

Butter London Fancy-full Lippy Liquid Lipstick Collection, Stila Stay All Day Sparkle All Night Lipstick Set, Smashbox L.A. Lights Palette, LORAC Mega Pro 3 Palette, Tarte The Kissing Squad Lip Sculptor Quad, Too Faced Grand Care Hotel

There’s a ton of reasons to make all of your beauty purchases at Ulta but the best one is the rewards program. Hands down! Racking up points at Ulta doesn’t just get you deluxe samples or impossibly hard to get mega sets. Shade but no shade. Sorry Sephora. I’ma let you finish but Ulta has the best rewards program around! Instead of getting deluxe samples of goodies you’d essentially receive for free elsewhere Ulta rewards you with dollars off your next purchase. The more points you have the better!

I’ve been spending up a storm over the last few months at Ulta but it’s all paid off because I was able to score almost all of the new limited edition holiday sets and palettes on my list without breaking the bank. I let my points stack up to 2,300 and redeemed them for $133 off. Talk about win! I couldn’t wait to grab a grey bag and fill it up with my top holiday picks so far this year.

Blush for Days with the New Tarte Color Wheel Amazonian Clay Blush Palette!

Tarte Color Wheel Amazonian Clay Blush Palette Swatches on Dark Skin

Is it just me or are holiday collections coming earlier and earlier every year? We haven’t even made it to Halloween yet and we’re already seeing new holiday palettes and sets. I’m not complaining. But dang! Can I go trick or treating and get through Thanksgiving first before these beauty brands are digging all in my pockets? Sheesh! I could have used a short break after Ulta’s enticing 21 Days of Beauty but it looks like that’s not happening since many brands, like Tarte, are already flashing their new holiday goodies in our faces.

Ulta 21 Days of Beauty Haul: Day 3

LORAC Starlight Light Source Illuminating Highlighter, Twilight Illuminating Highlighter, Technicolor Color Source Blush, Aura Color Source Blush, Cinematic Color Source Blush, Chroma Color Source Blush, Infrared Color Source Blush Swatches on Dark Skin

Have you ever thought to yourself, “Should I buy new clothes? Or this makeup I really want?” I literally had to ask myself this as I was preparing to head to New York for Ipsy’s Gen Beauty. Lord knows I needed new clothes (and shoes) but Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty just kept hitting me with these amazing one day only Beauty Steals. In real life, makeup doesn’t trump real life responsibilities. But in this instance, a one day only sale on makeup I’ve been wanting for months trumped the other shopping I needed to do. You can go shopping for clothes and shoes on any day, right?

Ulta 21 Days of Beauty: Day 2 Haul

Becca Lantana Mineral Blush, Flowerchild Mineral Blush, Opal Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured, Bare Minerals Bare Skin Complete Coverage Serum Concealer in Dark to Deep

There’s been a lot of exciting things happening in the beauty community these days but the most epic has to be Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty event. It’s rare to catch a discount on Prestige brands of makeup and skincare from any retailer. But I think it’s especially hard to do at Ulta because 99% of their coupons exclude the higher end brands. However, Ulta makes it up to us twice a year by giving us some pretty steep discounts on certain brands and products during 21 Days of Beauty.

MAC x Taraji P. Henson Collection Haul & Swatches

MAC Taraji Glow Mineralize Skinfinish, Highlight the Truth Mineralize Skinfinish, Strip Me Down Lipstick

Heeeeey, girl! It feels like it’s been forever since I updated you on my latest haul or favorite new product ’cause I’ve been so busy. Like incredibly busy. I spent most of last week preparing for Ipsy’s Generation Beauty Conference in New York which was rough. Trying to shop for clothes, shoes and makeup in between work, shooting and blogging was a lot. Needless to say, I’m pretty backed up on hauls, swatches and reviews but now that I’m back it’s time to get back to business!

Before Ipsy Gen Beauty NY, I’ve been shopping my butt off at Ulta and ordering things left and right so I have a ton of new goodies I want to share with you. First up, is the MAC x Taraji P. Henson Collection that had me dancing in my seat since MAC let the cat out of the bag on Instagram. Taraji P. Henson is testament of #blackgirlmagic with her sassy, witty personality, killer style and down to earth demeanor. She’s such a beautiful woman inside and out that I couldn’t help but to support her with her limited edition MAC collection.

Tarte Invites You to Get Your Blush On, Girl!

Tarte Big Blush Book 2

You better pop some color on those cheeks, girl! We all know bronzer is the star of the show during summer but you can’t forget to flush those cheeks with a little blush for a pop of color and balance. The right blush can take your look from cute to slay and that’s exactly the type of transition Tarte is aiming to help us make tomorrow. A while back, Tarte released The Big Blush Book that featured 10 full sized blushes in a mega-sized palette that sold like hotcakes. The limited edition palette was a huge hit that disappeared quickly leaving tons of makeup junkies demanding that Tarte bring it back just one more time. Apparently, Tarte realized the Big Blush Book was a necessity for makeup collectors all over so they created another one. The Big Blush Book 2 isn’t quite the same as the original Big Blush Book as it features 8 brand new full sized shades that range from pink to nude to peach. Part of me still wants the original Big Blush Book as I feel the shades were more suitable for my brown skin but The Big Blush Book 2 still looks promising as it’s an amazing deal for just $60. Tarte’s Amazonian Clay Blushes are normally $28 a pop so you’re saving over $100 with The Big Blush Book 2. Plus, the pans are magnetic so you can always transfer the blushes to a Z Palette for more convenience.

Dying to get your hands on the new Tarte Big Blush Book 2? Then you need to keep your eyes peeled on Tarte! The Big Blush Book 2 is set to release online only at Tarte tomorrow, August 25th, at noon EST. As you can imagine, The Big Blush Book 2 is going to go incredibly fast so get some rest, set an alarm and get your refresh finger ready because you don’t want to miss this deal!

ELF ILikeWeylie Face Palette Review

ELF ILikeWeylie Face Palette

When you’ve been wearing makeup for years, you start to get an idea of what colors, formulas and brands will work for you and the ones that don’t. But every now and then we get it wrong. I’m well aware that I have a warm undertone and a little extra melanin to spare so I like to opt for warm, rich colors that I know will show up on my skin tone. So I figured that the new limited edition ELF ILikeWeylie Face Palette would be a good option for me because it featured two orange-toned blushes, a champagne highlighter and a deep bronzer that all looked like it would work well for my brown skin. Boy I was wrong!
