Did I mention that I was starting to develop a thing for Tarte? Tarte managed to finally spark my interest with the Tartelette Eyeshadow Collection and now they’re beginning to reel me in with the new Double Duty Beauty Collection now available exclusively at Ulta. I have to be honest. Before I went to the Tarte training I was not at all impressed or interested in the Double Duty Beauty Collection. Double ended beauty products have never really been my thing because they always seemed cheap to me. Then after seeing the amazing Rainforest of the Sea Collection that was rolling out exclusively at Sephora the Double Duty Beauty Collection just looked like a disappointment.
Then I went to the Tarte training for the Double Duty Beauty Collection and got a chance to see and play with everything in person. I guess seeing really is believing because I came outta there wanting almost everyone I touched that day. LOL! Usually when we see double ended makeup it looks and feels cheap and the quality is often shoddy. Not this time around! Tarte has actually managed to make fetch happen with their latest collection of multitasking makeup.
Did I mention that Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty was going to make me broke? Because it is. Everyday there’s a new Beauty Steal that’s half off and way too tempting. Like today’s Too Faced Beauty Steal. I’ve had my eye on the Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush in Peach Beach for quite some time now so when I found out that they were going to be just $15 today I immediately made plans to purchase it. But you can’t purchase just one Too Faced product when it’s half off so I swatched Something About Berry and fell in love with it so I had to purchase that one too. It just makes sense right?
Have you ever spotted something and instantly thought to yourself, “Oh yeah that’s coming with me!” That’s exactly how I felt about the new NYX Nude to Me Ombre Blush the first time I saw it. The moment I laid eyes on it I knew I would love it. So I went ahead and swatched it when it popped up at my local Ulta and the next thing I knew I was snatching it up and heading to the registers with it. There’s 5 other shades in the Ombre Blush lineup but Nude to Me is hands down the must have of the bunch and there was no way I was leaving work without it!
Makeup has always been a weakness for me but last holiday season it got really bad. So many brands were pumping out amazing sets and palettes that I just couldn’t resist them. Especially all those darn palettes! From eyeshadow palettes to cheek palettes, I was hauling them all and falling in love quickly because they were just oh so good. The only downside is that most of them were limited edition so I had to rush through swatches and reviews like a mad woman so you could get your hands on them too before they quickly disappeared. That’s the one thing I hate about limited edition products!
Did I mention that NYX has been dominating this spring? Because they certainly are! In case you haven’t been keeping up, NYX has been making huge moves opening standalone boutiques as well as massively expanding their line to go from mass makeup to professional artistry. Which explains some of the big price hikes we’ve been experiencing lately as well as all of the department store dupes and rival products that we get to enjoy this spring. I’m not the biggest fan of the new products but I’m having a little bit of a hard time knocking NYX because the quality is definitely there and they’re quite innovative for a drugstore brand. I can dig it!
Oh, Becca. You sure know how to make a girl glow! There were a lot of holiday collections that caught my eye last year but Becca took the gold. Hands down. I ended up with pretty much her entire holiday collection because it was oh so beautiful and I’m a complete highlight freak. That’s why I ended up grabbing the Afterglow Palette before it disappeared from my local Ulta. It’s a lovely cheek palette that features 3 Shimmering Skin Perfectors and 2 Mineral Blushes all wrapped in pretty pink metallic packaging. Perfect for Pink Wednesday!
The spotlight may be on Gwen Stefani right now but that doesn’t mean that Urban Decay is neglecting their permanent lineup! Our favorite eyeshadow brand recently whipped up new shades of their Revolution High Color Lip Gloss and Afterglow Blush for spring that are available exclusively online at Urban Decay. And boy do they look tempting!
Sometimes the most simple way to relax is to just sit back and take a deep breath. That’s exactly the approach Philosophy is taking this spring with their latest line of foundation (I’ll show ya later), blush and bronzer. The Take A Breath line now features Cushion Color for Cheeks and a Sheer Liquid Sunshine highlight and bronzer that feels carefree and laid-back like a fresh deep breath.
I love a pop of color as much as the next girl but sometimes I just want to rock a natural look. Something quick and simple that won’t leave me in the mirror for 30+ minutes blending my little heart out until my arms get tired. That’s why I was excited to see the MAC Faerie Whispers Collection for holiday last year. Faerie Whispers was loaded with soft, shimmering neutrals that I knew would be perfect for my quick, everyday looks.
