The spotlight may be on Gwen Stefani right now but that doesn’t mean that Urban Decay is neglecting their permanent lineup! Our favorite eyeshadow brand recently whipped up new shades of their Revolution High Color Lip Gloss and Afterglow Blush for spring that are available exclusively online at Urban Decay. And boy do they look tempting!
Sometimes the most simple way to relax is to just sit back and take a deep breath. That’s exactly the approach Philosophy is taking this spring with their latest line of foundation (I’ll show ya later), blush and bronzer. The Take A Breath line now features Cushion Color for Cheeks and a Sheer Liquid Sunshine highlight and bronzer that feels carefree and laid-back like a fresh deep breath.
I love a pop of color as much as the next girl but sometimes I just want to rock a natural look. Something quick and simple that won’t leave me in the mirror for 30+ minutes blending my little heart out until my arms get tired. That’s why I was excited to see the MAC Faerie Whispers Collection for holiday last year. Faerie Whispers was loaded with soft, shimmering neutrals that I knew would be perfect for my quick, everyday looks.
Shade+Light Two Tone Blush defines your cheeks through the art of color. Kat Von D’s new tow-in-one blush features a duo of complementary matte tones. With seven stunning shades that flatter all complexions and face shapes, this blush stays vibrant for a full 24 hours of wear.
First, sculpt and define your face shape with the deeper Shade blush, and then highlight with the Light blush to enhance bone structure. Specially formulated to work with Kat Von D’s Shade+Light Contour Palette (sold separately), these silky powders blend effortlessly into skin for a flawless, buildable finish.

The new year just barely started and we’re already seeing spring collections and sneak peeks. One of the latest is Urban Decay’s continuation of their Gwen Stefani Collection which we’ll be seeing more of this spring. Apparently, Gwen Stefani wasn’t just stopping at an eyeshadow palette. Nope!
If there’s one makeup product I tend to show a little loyalty towards it’s blush. I’ll change my lipstick and maybe even my foundation and concealer on a regular basis but once I find a blush I love I stick with it. I spent a lot of 2015 working so I stuck to quick, simple looks that required blush I could throw on with little effort but maximum results.
A lot of brands went all out with their holiday collections this year but I think NARS took the cake. The makeup genius teamed up with the high-profile fashion photographer, Steven Klein, to create a limited edition collection filled with beautiful sets, palettes and more. There were a lot of tempting pieces (I mean a lot) but I really had my eye on the Despair Cheek Palette.
I’ve learned two important lessons this holiday season. First lesson, Sephora’s Holiday Reward Cards are really dangerous. I ended up getting almost everything that was on my list and I don’t even regret it. Second lesson, swatches can really be deceiving.
I knew well before the Holiday Reward Cards went out that I’d be using mine to finally order the beautiful Laura Mercier Blush & Glow Radiant Face Trio. It’s a gorgeous cheek palette with sophisticated abstract animal print packaging and 3 of Laura Mercier’s favorite products to bring warmth and color to the face for the perfect sunny glow all year round.
Have you ever developed brand loyalty after getting into makeup? I kinda did. Once I felt I was getting the hang of things I thought it was time to upgrade from the drugstore stuff and start taking trips to the MAC counter. Then I got hooked. I found myself wanting to try every new product and grab something (or everything) from every new collection. Now, I like to branch out a little more and get to know other brands but MAC still catches my eye here and there.
Now that I’ve shaken my natural blush rut, it’s time to play with some brighter colors and new blushes! Last month, I decided to take the plunge on the highly raved about ELF Blush Palettes since I could use a fresh variety of bushes to get my juices flowing again. And it was only $3 for 4 shades catered for WOC so why not?
