Clinique All About Eyes Review

Clinique All About Eyes

Dry eyes can be a huge pain in the butt. Especially if you wear makeup. Dry eyes can make concealer look cakey, crease and look, well, dry. I’ve struggled with my dry eyes quite a bit but things started to get better as I experimented with eye creams. I’ve only tried a couple of them so far with good results but it seems that I might have just found a new favorite in the Clinique All About Eyes eye cream. I’ve been using the Clinique All About Eyes cream for over a month now and I’m rather impressed with how well it hydrates and refreshes my parched eyes.

Finding a good mascara can be a challenging feat but the new It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara is definitely making life a little easier for makeup junkies. I think we can all agree that long, luscious full lashes are every gal’s dream but that false lash effect isn’t always achievable without actually applying a glamorous pair of falsies. However, It Cosmetics is getting us one step closer to the lashes we dream about with the new Superhero Mascara formulated with Elastic Stretch Technology to boost volume, add length and condition lashes with every coat. Sounds fancy, right?

Wednesday is all about feeling girly in pink here in Fancieland so this week I’m celebrating with one of my favorite pink perfumes: Dior Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet. If the alluring Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet looks familiar to you it’s probably because I’ve featured it before for Pink Wednesday. I hate to be redundant when there’s so many different ways to rock pink but spritzing on a little Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet is one of my favorite ways to celebrate pink during spring. Dior has done such a beautiful job creating Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet that I find myself whipping it out every year when spring rolls around.

My Secret Weapons for Brighter, More Even Skin

Murad Essential-C Cleanser, Pixi Glow Tonic Exfoliating Toner, Murad Essential-C Day Moisture

Fighting those dreadful signs of aging is definitely high up on the skincare priority list but achieving a brighter, more even complexion is certainly right behind it! The only thing more annoying than dealing with fine lines, dullness and wrinkles is an uneven complexion marked with dark spots. Hyper-pigmentation (or dark spots) are common under the eyes, around the mouth and forehead for many people–myself included. For years, I’ve pretty much accepted the fact that dark spots were just a way of life because I had no idea that there was a way to diminish them. Boy was I wrong!

Through the years, I’ve been learning a ton more about skincare and I was shocked to learn how a simple tweak in your routine could transform the appearance and texture of skin. Even when it comes to dark spots. Hyper-pigmentation isn’t a skincare struggle we’re faced to deal with. It’s actually easy to treat and correct with the right products and lots of persistence. Less than a year ago, I introduced 3 new products to my skincare routine just to see what they were all about. After a few weeks of consistently using them I started realize a difference in the appearance of my skin. Not only was my complexion visibly brighter and more radiant but my dark spots were also beginning to fade leaving my skin looking more even and healthy. It would be totally selfish of me not to share my skincare secrets with you so I’m going to walk you through exactly how I achieved a brighter, more even complexion using my 3 secret weapons.

Bobbi Brown Eye Blender Brush

If there was one thing I learned from my quick stint with Bobbi Brown it’s that she makes some amazing quality makeup. There’s a reason why Bobbi Brown is a household name all over the globe. That woman really knows her stuff! From her massive foundation range to her stunning Shimmer Bricks, Bobbi Brown has managed to create a quite impressive makeup line with a huge following that’s greatly deserved. I didn’t know too much about Bobbi Brown products before I worked there but I quickly discovered why everyone was so crazy about them. Especially her makeup brushes.

OPI Hello Kitty Look at My Bow! Nail Polish

Springtime is here! After a few random blizzards here and there, it’s finally sunshines and smiles here in Michigan so I was ready to make my nails look spring ready with a little yellow and Hello Kitty. Yes, I’m still obsessing over the OPI Hello Kitty Collection. You’ll have to bare with me here because it’ll probably be a few more weeks before I finally shake my Hello Kitty fever. If I ever do. I just can’t help myself. It’s the cutest nail collection ever!

5 Hydrating Primers for Dry Skin

5 Primers for Dry Skin

Tired of your foundation and concealer emphasizing your dry skin? Me too, girl! I’ve tried a ton of different foundations and concealers throughout the years and I’ve discovered that it’s not always the formula that needs a change. Sometimes it’s our approach, skin and technique that needs a little tweaking. Foundation and concealer has a tendency to emphasize dry skin putting the spotlight on flaky patches and fine lines rather than creating that smooth, flawless finish we crave. Now, there’s plenty of moisturizing foundations and concealers out there but if you’re anything like me you’ll quickly learn that they’re not without flaws either. Some moisturizing formulas tend to settle into fine lines and wrinkles as well as fade quickly, look greasy or just feel too rich–especially in the summer. That’s why I like to focus on correcting my dry skin with a solid skincare routine (which I’ll soon share!) and a good hydrating formula to ensure that my makeup applies and wears beautifully all day.

NARS Under Cover Summer 2016 Collection

NARS Summer 2016 Collection

NARS is known for their simple iconic, minimalistic matte black packaging but every now and then NARS likes to spice things up a bit for their limited edition collections. Or a lot when it comes to this year’s summer collection. Don’t get too antsy just yet! The products feature same classic rubbery matte black we’re used to but this time around the boxes are just as beautiful as the makeup itself. For the upcoming limited edition summer collection, NARS has decked out the product packaging with beautiful illustrations from the talented contemporary artist Konstantin Kakanias to make this collection a true work of art from start to finish.

It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Silk HD Anti-Aging Micro-Powder Review

It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Silk HD Anti-Aging Micro-Powder

When you have dry skin and fine lines setting powder is probably one of your least favorite products. For people with normal to oily skin, setting powder is this miracle product that refines foundation and concealer for an airbrushed look that’s smooth, shine-free and flawless. For dry skin, setting powder just makes skin look more dry and even cakey as it accentuates texture and fine lines. Pretty much everything you’re trying to hide. I’ve had my fair share of struggling with both dry skin and fine lines and it’s no fun–especially when setting powders are involved.

I’ve gotten a handle on my dry skin quite some time ago but I’m still struggling to diminish my fine lines which causes some annoying creasing issues under my eyes with every concealer I’ve ever tried. The key to keeping concealer from creasing is setting powder but for years I’ve struggled to find just the right one to alleviate creasing without making my dry under eyes look even more dry or cakey. At first, the best I’ve found was the NARS Loose Light Reflecting Setting Powder which works well but can start to look dry if my brush or sponge picks up too much product. Thanks to Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty, though, I was tempted to try It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Silk HD Anti-Aging Micro-Powder and I think it’s the best thing since sliced bread.
