More Urban Decay Please!

Urban Decay Trance Vice Lipstick, Blunt Eyeshadow, Score Afterglow Blush

Ever since I finally tried the Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer and Naked Skin Ultra Definition Powder Foundation I’ve been kinda hooked. I’ve always liked Urban Decay but now I really like Urban Decay! The Naked Skin line is quickly becoming my go to for a flawless complexion and the Revolution lipsticks (now revamped) are hands down my favorite traditional lipsticks right now so I was super pumped when I found out that my team and I were going to be hitting an Urban Decay training to learn all about the brand and new products. Including the upcoming Vice lipsticks. I seriously thought I was going to lose my mind when the Urban Decay makeup artists unveiled the massive Vice Lipstick vice containing all 100 shades. It was probably the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen!

Urban Decay Trance Metallized Lipstick

There were so many lipsticks to choose from that I didn’t know where to start. I wanted to try them all! Of course, there wasn’t nearly enough time for me to try all of the new Vice Lipsticks but I was able to try on two of them and I’m happy to report that Urban Decay is going to knock this release out of the park. My first pick was Conspiracy, a plum bronze shimmer with a Metallized finish. It went on smoothly and evenly with good pigmentation and a lightweight creamy texture that felt very good on the lips. I was expecting the Metallized finish to feel a little gritty on the lips with all that delicious shimmer but Urban Decay managed to make Conspiracy feel like butter on the lips while giving my lips a nice juicy sheen and lots of glitz. It was hard for me to take it off because the color was so beautiful and the formula was so nice. So when I went to try on Disturbed, a deep brick red with a Comfort Matte finish, I decided to create an ombre lip pairing it with Conspiracy. The result was absolutely beautiful as the colors meshed incredibly well together and the Comfort Matte formula is just as smooth, creamy and easy on the lips as the good ol’ Revolution Matte Lipsticks.

Lucky for me, I ended up receiving one of the new Vice Lipsticks in Trance, a nude mauve shimmer in a Metallized finish. It’s a really pretty neutral pink with lots of fine iridescent shimmer that gives it a nice boost from your typical boring nude pink. Like Conspiracy, Trance doesn’t feel hard or gritty at all. It’s very creamy and feels really good on the lips too. Trance makes for a great everyday lipstick and has me super excited to get my hands on other shades. Starting with Conspiracy!

Urban Decay Score Afterglow Blush

Urban Decay was also nice enough to toss in a blush and eyeshadow too. So nice! I ended up receiving Score Afterglow Blush, a medium pink peach with shimmer. Score is a little light for my tastes but it appears to be a little better when layered. I like that it has a hint of golden shimmer in the mix so it won’t look too flat or ashy on my complexion. I’m a big fan of Bittersweet and Rapture so I’m hoping that Score will work in my favor too as the Afterglow formula is actually really nice.

Urban Decay Blunt Eyeshadow

A girl can never have too many gold eyeshadows so I was happy to see that I also received Blunt Eyeshadow. Blunt is a light golden bronze shimmer that’s a very flattering and wearable shades for all skin tones. It’s incredibly pigmented with a soft, finely milled texture that feels super creamy for a powder shadow. I actually popped in on before writing this post and I absolutely adore it. It’s a great everyday lid color that makes my eyes pop nicely without being too shimmery or having too much fallout. I can simply pop it on with my fingers, blend a little and go. My kind of shadow! Between Blunt, Trance and the Naked Skin line I think Urban Decay is soon going to become one of my new favorite brands!

NYX Havana & Vancouver Soft Matte Lip Cream Review

NYX Havana & Vancouver Soft Matte Lip Cream

This time of year usually calls for bright, glossy lips but I still like to pull out a vampy lip or two every now and then to let them see a little sunshine. Like on rainy days. Or hot, humid nights. Bright pinks and corals are still my world for spring and summer but sometimes it’s nice to take a walk on the dark side with a sexy vampy lip. Even when it’s warm out. That’s why the new NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams in Havana and Vancouver have been in heavy rotation lately. They’re definitely fall/winter shades but I’ve been digging them a lot these days.

One of the many upsides to being a makeup blogger (and junkie) is that I get to try a lot of different new products quite often. Most times, I purchase them myself which makes my wallet a little sad but my face very happy when I pick products that turn out to be amazing. May was a super long month filled with a lot of sales and great collections that I needed in my life so I ended up hauling lots of new makeup that caught my eye. Was it a little expensive? Yes. Do I regret it? Nope! Most of the new goodies I picked up turned out to be some of the best products I’ve ever tried. In fact, a few of them ended up being in heavy rotation from the moment I picked them up. Score!

On Wednesdays We Wear Pink!

ColourPop Poppin' Matte X Lippie Stix

Can’t get enough of bright pinks this spring? Me either! That’s why I’ve got yet another hot pink lipstick to share with you this fine Pink Wednesday. ‘Cause a girl can never have too many bold pink lipsticks, right? While I still have a strong fling going on with my Urban Decay Catfight Revolution Lipstick I’ve been getting pretty close with ColourPop’s Poppin’ Matte X Lippie Stix. It was first released as a limited edition free gift back when ColourPop reached 2 million followers on Instagram. As you can imagine, Poppin’ went pretty quickly but ColourPop decided to bring it back permanently in the new Matte X Lippie Stix lineup. Of course, it no longer sports it’s poppin’ pink packaging (see what I did there? ?) but Poppin’ is still a hot pink that you’ll want to add to your collection if you’re a hardcore pink lover.

Wet n Wild Indigo Your Own Way ColorIcon Metallic Liquid Lipstick

Tired of matte liquid lipsticks? Let’s get metallic then! Matte liquid lipsticks have been the all the rage for quite some time now but it seems that more and more metallic liquid lipsticks are popping up on the scene. Some still sport a matte finish for a really funky look but some brands like Wet n Wild decided to skip the matte and just go for a smooth, metallic liquid lipstick that easy on the lips and filled to the brim with glitter. I’m so here for it!

On Wednesdays We Wear Pink!

Urban Decay Catfight Revolution Lipstick

The only thing better than finding a pretty bold hot pink lipstick to rock on Pink Wednesday is finding one that’s half off. Beautiful and affordable? Can’t beat that! That’s why this week’s pink pick is the Urban Decay Catfight Revolution Lipstick. At the moment, it’s half off online at Urban Decay and in stores at Ulta, Macy’s and Sephora because Urban Decay is revamping their lipstick line to replace it with the new Vice lipsticks. There’s a few shades that’ll be carried over into the Vice lipstick range but unfortunately Catfight will soon be discontinued so I jumped on the chance to finally pick it up for just $11.

Still Obsessing Over the MAC Chris Chang Collection

MAC Chris Chang Collection for Summer 2016

Anyone else still drooling over the MAC Chris Chang Collection? I know I’m not alone here! Initially, I purchased a few products from the collection solely because the packaging is beyond gorgeous and I had a $10 off discount code. Once I finally got my hands on my new Chris Chang goodies I developed such a strong love for the collection. Not just because the packaging is amazing but also because the actual products turned out wonderfully too. I don’t have a bright yellow matte shadow in my collection so I jumped at the chance to bring home Royal Woo Eyeshadow which I knew would be a great lid color for spring and summer. Rich Coral Cream Colour Base can easily be duped in my collection but orange blushes are so easy for me to wear so I went ahead and tossed it in my cart too. It’s a bit sheer but I like that I can easily build up Rich Coral for a soft, natural flush of orange that warms up my complexion and gives me a nice luminous glow too.

New ColourPop Ultra Satin Lipsticks!

ColourPop Frick n Frack, Mess Around, So Wavy Ultra Satin Lipsticks

I keep telling myself I’m going to hold off on buying more lipsticks (that I certainly don’t need) but leave it to ColourPop to call my bluff every time. I’m still recovering from snatching up quite a few of Urban Decay Revolution Lipsticks that are now half off but ColourPop decided to have a flash sale right after that was too good to pass up. Everything under $10 plus 20% off? It would be a crime if I didn’t place an order! So I did what was right and added a 3 of the new Ultra Satin Lipsticks (along with other things ?) to my cart so I could finally get my hands on those beauties.
