ColourPop Ultra Metallic Lip Coming Soon!

ColourPop Ultra Metallic Lip in 3-Way, Kween, Zebra and Maneater

Move over matte! There’s a new liquid lipstick formula in town and it’s taking the makeup world by storm these days. Metallic liquid lipsticks are starting to become a huge hit with brands like Wet n Wild, Milani and now ColourPop jumping on board. The lovelies over at ColourPop hopped on Snapchat yesterday to reveal that they’ve cooked up yet another new release for us: Ultra Metallic Lip. Yaaaaaas, ColourPop! The Ultra Metallic Lip is, of course, a new formula that’s filled with glitter to give our lips a fun metallic rush for summer. The formula is said to be similar to the Ultra Satin Lip as it’s not completely transfer proof and doesn’t seem to sport an ultra matte finish. Sounds good right? Lucky for us, we won’t have to wait too long to get our hands on the new Ultra Metallic Lips as ColourPop will be releasing the first 4 shades with limited quantities tomorrow. There’s no word on a set time for the Ultra Metallic Lip release so you’ll have to keep your eyes peeled to the site to catch the first round. Don’t worry though! ColourPop will be restocking them with a full release very soon in case you miss out!

Will you be ordering any of the new Ultra Metallic Lips?

Rock Cute Lips & Cheeks All Summer with Tarte!

Cute Lips & Cheeks All Summer with Tarte

I don’t know about you but I just love sales! A few weeks ago, Tarte was feeling super generous with a 30% off sitewide sale. Most times, I take sitewide sales with a grain of salt because they don’t actually include everything on the site like the name implies. Especially Tarte’s. Tarte is known for handing out discount codes like Oprah hands out cars that you can’t even use on the really good stuff like their new or limited edition products. This time around, though, things were different. You could actually take 30% off sitewide. No gimmicks! So I did what any normal makeup junkie would do. I ordered up all of the new stuff I wanted and then tossed in a blush for good measure.

ColourPop So Wavy Ultra Satin Lipstick Review

ColourPop So Wavy Ultra Satin Lipstick

When it comes to liquid lipsticks ColourPop has it all. From basic nudes to crazy colors like green and grey, you can find it all at ColourPop–no problem. That’s what I love about ColourPop. It’s super easy to find the perfect lipstick for whatever mood you’re in. Even if you’re in the mood for an electric blue-purple. I don’t always wake up and think to myself, “Hmm, I’m thinking blurple lips today.” However, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want one in my collection for those random moments where bold blurple lips are where it’s at.

Urban Decay Trance Vice Lipstick Review

Urban Decay Trance Vice Lipstick

The Urban Decay Revolution Lipsticks are almost long gone but the Vice Lipsticks are rolling in full steam this summer. And I’m definitely welcoming them with open arms! I was a little sad at first when I found out that the Revolution Lipsticks were being discontinued but it turned out to be a good thing for Urban Decay. Not only will we get to choose from 100 shades of creamy lipsticks but Urban Decay is also knocking the price down from $22 to $17 a pop. If you ask me, I think the new Vice Lipsticks are a good move for Urban Decay. They’re putting themselves in a position to compete with lipstick heavy hitter, MAC, and I have a feeling that the Vice Lipsticks are definitely going to give MAC a run for their money.

5 Bold Pink Lipsticks for Summer

5 Bold Pinks for Summer: ColourPop Poppin' Matte X Lippie Stix, Chanel Extatique Rouge Allure Lipstick, Too Faced Mean Girls La Creme Lipstick, NYX Razzle Butter Lipstick, Urban Decay Sheer Anarchy Revolution Lipstick

Nothing says summertime like bold pink lips! The second it starts to get warm, I reach for something fun, flirty and bright to pop on my lips and amp up my summer mood. A good bold pink lipstick is a summer must have because it instantly brightens the face with a little color and adds a girly touch of glam. Summer is all about natural looking, glowing skin and nothing pairs better with a natural luminous beat like a good bold pink lipstick to give it that extra oomph with juicy lips that look like they’ve just been kissed. Picking the perfect bold pink lipstick can be a bit tricky though so I’ve rounded up my top 5 picks to make life a little easier for you.

ColourPop Matte X Lippie Stix Are Here!

ColourPop Matte X Lippie Stix Are Here!

If I had to pick a favorite budget beauty brand for the year I would have to go with ColourPop, hands down. ColourPop has only been around for two years now yet they’ve already expanded their brand to include shadows, highlighters, lipsticks and more. Plus, just about everything ColourPop creates is amazing quality that won’t set you back more than $8 a pop. Now that’s what I call a win! Besides their great quality, my favorite thing about ColourPop is how they’re always creating new, innovative products that are fun, exciting and too tempting to resist. Their latest creation is the new line of Matte X Lippie Stix. They’re an ultra matte extension to the Lippie Stix lineup that features a shine free finish that’s a bit easier on the lips than the Ultra Satin Lipsticks.

Influenster Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid Vox Box

Maybelline 10 Nude Flush, 35 Rebel Road Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid Lip Color

Liquid lipsticks are everywhere now. When liquid lipsticks first began trending you could really only find them online. Today, you can walk into your nearest drugstore and pick up a few liquid lipsticks that are actually pretty decent quality without the usual $15-$20 price tag. Maybelline is one of the best drugstore brands in the building when it comes to lipsticks so it was only a matter of time before they hopped in the liquid lipstick ring with their own line of Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid Lip Colors. I recently received a couple of them in my Influenster Maybelline Vox Box to test out for you guys and I’m pretty excited because Maybelline’s lipsticks have yet to disappoint me.

More Urban Decay Please!

Urban Decay Trance Vice Lipstick, Blunt Eyeshadow, Score Afterglow Blush

Ever since I finally tried the Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer and Naked Skin Ultra Definition Powder Foundation I’ve been kinda hooked. I’ve always liked Urban Decay but now I really like Urban Decay! The Naked Skin line is quickly becoming my go to for a flawless complexion and the Revolution lipsticks (now revamped) are hands down my favorite traditional lipsticks right now so I was super pumped when I found out that my team and I were going to be hitting an Urban Decay training to learn all about the brand and new products. Including the upcoming Vice lipsticks. I seriously thought I was going to lose my mind when the Urban Decay makeup artists unveiled the massive Vice Lipstick vice containing all 100 shades. It was probably the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen!

Urban Decay Trance Metallized Lipstick

There were so many lipsticks to choose from that I didn’t know where to start. I wanted to try them all! Of course, there wasn’t nearly enough time for me to try all of the new Vice Lipsticks but I was able to try on two of them and I’m happy to report that Urban Decay is going to knock this release out of the park. My first pick was Conspiracy, a plum bronze shimmer with a Metallized finish. It went on smoothly and evenly with good pigmentation and a lightweight creamy texture that felt very good on the lips. I was expecting the Metallized finish to feel a little gritty on the lips with all that delicious shimmer but Urban Decay managed to make Conspiracy feel like butter on the lips while giving my lips a nice juicy sheen and lots of glitz. It was hard for me to take it off because the color was so beautiful and the formula was so nice. So when I went to try on Disturbed, a deep brick red with a Comfort Matte finish, I decided to create an ombre lip pairing it with Conspiracy. The result was absolutely beautiful as the colors meshed incredibly well together and the Comfort Matte formula is just as smooth, creamy and easy on the lips as the good ol’ Revolution Matte Lipsticks.

Lucky for me, I ended up receiving one of the new Vice Lipsticks in Trance, a nude mauve shimmer in a Metallized finish. It’s a really pretty neutral pink with lots of fine iridescent shimmer that gives it a nice boost from your typical boring nude pink. Like Conspiracy, Trance doesn’t feel hard or gritty at all. It’s very creamy and feels really good on the lips too. Trance makes for a great everyday lipstick and has me super excited to get my hands on other shades. Starting with Conspiracy!

Urban Decay Score Afterglow Blush

Urban Decay was also nice enough to toss in a blush and eyeshadow too. So nice! I ended up receiving Score Afterglow Blush, a medium pink peach with shimmer. Score is a little light for my tastes but it appears to be a little better when layered. I like that it has a hint of golden shimmer in the mix so it won’t look too flat or ashy on my complexion. I’m a big fan of Bittersweet and Rapture so I’m hoping that Score will work in my favor too as the Afterglow formula is actually really nice.

Urban Decay Blunt Eyeshadow

A girl can never have too many gold eyeshadows so I was happy to see that I also received Blunt Eyeshadow. Blunt is a light golden bronze shimmer that’s a very flattering and wearable shades for all skin tones. It’s incredibly pigmented with a soft, finely milled texture that feels super creamy for a powder shadow. I actually popped in on before writing this post and I absolutely adore it. It’s a great everyday lid color that makes my eyes pop nicely without being too shimmery or having too much fallout. I can simply pop it on with my fingers, blend a little and go. My kind of shadow! Between Blunt, Trance and the Naked Skin line I think Urban Decay is soon going to become one of my new favorite brands!
