Yes to Coconut Ultra Hydrating Overnight Eye Balm Review

Yes to Coconut Ultra Hydrating Overnight Eye Balm

Dry skin is a hassle no matter where it is but I think it can be the most challenging when it’s your eyes. Dry eyes can really wreck a good beat from making concealer crease and look cakey to even causing your eyeshadow to crease and go on patchy. Since I’ve turned 25, I’ve been suffering from chronic dry eyes that have become a real pain in my ass. I’ve tried a couple of eye creams now that seem to help a great deal but I knew it was time to kick it up a notch with an eye cream specifically designed for treating and nourishing dry eyes overnight. That’s why I didn’t hesitate to pick up the new Yes to Coconut Ultra Hydrating Overnight Eye Balm when it popped up at Ulta.

Buying new beauty products is easy but finishing them is hard. Really hard. There’s always something new and shiny around the corner touting to be the best thing since sliced bread and every now and then (or almost always) we give in to see if it’s truly worth the hype. It’s a vicious cycle, man. I’m definitely guilty of loving one thing and then leaving it by the wayside when a shiny new product comes along to take its place. However, there are times that I tend to stick with a product ’til the very end because it’s just too damn good to be replaced. Those, my friends, are what we call holy grail products. They make you wonder, “How the heck have I ever lived my life without this stuff?” I’ve actually discovered quite a few holy grail products this year that I’ve managed to finish up (or put a serious dent in) before spring that I’m dying to share with you lovelies. Let’s get started, shall we?

Philosophy Renewed Hope in a Jar Overnight Recharging & Refining Moisturizer Review

Philosophy Renewed Hope in a Jar Overnight Recharging & Refining Moisturizer

I’m sure we’ve all lost count how many times we’ve heard the age old advice,”Don’t sleep in makeup!” There’s many reasons for that though. For one, makeup can clog your pores and sleeping in your beat face can cause some serious breakouts–even acne. Secondly, your skin repairs and replenishes itself as you sleep so it’s best to give your skin room to breathe and do its magic simply by washing your face. Once you get removing your makeup every night down to a science it’s time to beef up your nightly skincare routine to really give your skin a helping hand at recharging itself at night.

One of the best products you can add to your nightly skincare routine is a good, hydrating night cream. Every night, skin works to create fresh, new skin cells and push them to the top layer for a clear, glowing complexion. There’s lots of things that can slow down that process though. Factors like lack of sleep, aging, an unhealthy diet and more can make the overnight recharging process a struggle causing dull, dry skin that looks flaky and uneven while causing noticeable signs of aging. That’s why we all need a good night cream. No matter how young or old you are.

On Wednesdays We Wear Pink!

ARI by Ariana Grande Perfume

Happy hump day! Today is definitely the perfect day for pink because there’s been snow storms all over and there’s nothing like a splash of pink to make us feel all warm and fuzzy inside. My pink inspiration this week comes from Ariana Grande with her signature fragrance, ARI by Ariana Grande. Not only is ARI pretty in pink but it smells sooo good too!

3 Yes to Coconut Products Dry Skin Needs

Yes to Coconut Ultra Hydrating Skincare

As an avid beauty junkie, it’s hard admitting that I can be a bit of a snob sometimes but in some cases I just can’t help it. I appreciate the beauty in all makeup–from drugstore to high end. However, I’m a little more picky when it comes to skincare products. Because most times the higher price tag is well justified in the results. High end brands like Peter Thomas Roth and Murad easily captured my heart with their effective (and very expensive) skincare products that work miracles on my skin. But every now and then I come across some rather amazing skincare gems in the drugstore aisles that seriously impress me. Like my holy grail toner, Pixi Glow Tonic, and the new Yes To Coconut Hydrate & Restore Ultra Calming Skincare line.

Besides the Cooling Lip Oil, I’ve always picked over the Yes To line because I just wasn’t that convinced that it was all that great. Especially for the slightly higher prices than other budget beauty skincare lines. All that changed though when the Yes To Coconut line was expanded to include a range of hydrating skincare products that piqued my interest and excited my dry skin. To hell with being a skincare snob. I love coconut oil way too much!

Peter Thomas Roth Rose Stem Cell Bio-Repair Gel Mask Review

Peter Thomas Roth Rose Stem Cell Bio-Repair Gel Mask

At the ripe age of 26, I wouldn’t exactly say that anti-aging benefits is on the top of my skincare priority list but it isn’t too far off. On the surface, it seems a little silly because I have rather clear skin and a healthy complexion that leaves people perplexed when I tell them about the anti-aging products I love to use. I get it. I don’t exactly look like I could use any anti-aging benefits but my skin would beg to differ. On the regular, I hear lots of ladies complaining about oily skin but little do they know that yesteryear’s oil slick is actually a helping hand when it comes to aging. All that excess oil produced by oily skin leaves skin more plump and smooth over time resulting in a more youthful appearance free of severe fine lines and wrinkles. Now dry skin? That’s another story!

Dry skin seems like less of a headache because there’s no worry about your favorite makeup sliding off halfway throughout the day. Or the need to carry around blotting papers. But dry skin isn’t completely struggle free. In fact, dry skin can actually speed up the aging process making skin look dull, flat and littered with fine lines and wrinkles. Which is extremely annoying. Especially when it comes to makeup and skincare.

Eczema Struggles? Try This!

Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream

Dry skin comes with its struggles all year round but things can get really bad once the winter rolls around. The cold temperatures, harsh winds and dry indoor heat can wreak havoc on dry skin and cause all sorts of nasty skin struggles. One of the most common (and annoying!) of winter skin struggles is eczema. Millions of people struggle with itchy, scaly and often irritating rashes of tiny bumps that can make life a living hell with no sign of relief in sight.

If you follow me on Snapchat, then you’ve probably seen my recent pics and videos of my extreme eczema flare up this winter. It seemed to come out of nowhere once I returned home from Gen Beauty and it spread pretty quickly from my arms, to my legs and even my face. Almost overnight, my skin went from perfectly fine to a burning, itching sensation that was flaking, peeling and red as a tomato. Ouch!

Lancome Advanced Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate Review

Lancome Advanced Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate

Before turning 25, my skincare routine was super simple. Just cleanser and moisturizer. Now I use everything under the kitchen sink because my skin doesn’t bounce back as easily as it used to. I could repeatedly fall asleep in my makeup without my face falling off the next day. Or spend days chilling in the sun without sunscreen (the horror!) or a care in the world about dark spots, fine lines or wrinkles. Long gone are those days. Sigh.

Now, I have a complex skincare routine that includes everything from masks to eye cream and even serum. Yes serum. Although I still look like a baby my dry skin is already starting to show some slight (yet majorly annoying) signs of aging like increased dryness and fine lines.
