Milani Spring 2016 Picks

Milani Spring 2016 Picks: 05 Repairing Primrose Moisture Lock Oil Infused Lip Treatment, 01 Moisturizing Almond Coco Moisture Lock Oil Infused Lip Treatment, 02 Healing Lemon Honey Moisture Lock Oil Infused Lip Treatment, Prime Perfection Face Primer Hydrating + Pore Minimizing, 05 Earthy Elements Everyday Eyes Powder Eyeshadow Collection

Well hello there love bugs! I feel like I haven’t talked to you guys in forever. I miss ya! If you follow me on Snapchat, then you probably already know that I vacationed in LA this weekend for my birthday and to hit my first ever beauty conference: Ipsy Generation Beauty. It was an overwhelming experience but a truly rewarding one as I met some really nice influencers, received some amazing goodie bags and got a chance to check out some of my favorite brands in action. Like Milani.

Milani Moisture Lock Oil Infused Lip Treatment: 05 Repairing Primrose, 01 Moisturizing Almond Coco, 02 Healing Lemon Honey

Before I went on vacation, I picked up a handful of new Milani Spring 2016 goodies including the popular Moisture Lock Oil Infused Lip Treatments. They’re new additions to the Milani lineup that offers a dose of shine and hydration in 8 scents with different treatments including:

  • 01 Moisturizing Almond Coco coconut oil
  • 02 Healing Lemon Honey lemon oil
  • 03 Rejuvenating Peach Mango peach seed oil
  • 04 Condition Grapeseed grapeseed oil
  • 05 Repairing Primrose rose hip oil
  • 06 Revitalizing Grapefruit grapefruit oil
  • 07 Protecting Pomegranate pomegranate oil
  • 08 Nourishing Raspberry raspberry oil

Each treatment is formulated with the natural healing power of Jojoba, Avocado and Tsubaki Oil to nourish and hydrate lips. I picked up 3 of them including: 01 Moisturizing Almond Coco, 02 Healing Lemon Honey and 05 Repairing Primrose. I’ve tried all 3 of them and they’re rather lightweight with tons of shine. My favorite is the 01 Moisturizing Almond Coco because it’s super hydrating and it smells so delicious! I also love 05 Repairing Primrose because it makes a great lip primer for my mattes and liquid lipsticks offering a nice moisture boost that’s not too heavy. The 02 Healing Lemon Honey is my least favorite because it’s not quite as moisturizing as the 01 Moisturizing Almond Coco or 05 Repairing Primrose but I still enjoy using it. It’s a great lipstick topper and a nice overnight lip treatment when layered with 05 Repairing Primrose. Whether you’re new to lip oils or have a thing for them I think you’ll probably enjoy the Moisture Lock Oil Infused Lip Treatments, too.

Milani Prime Perfection Hydrating + Pore Minimizing Face Primer

Lately, I’ve been swearing by my Urban Decay Brightening & Tightening Complexion Primer Potion but I couldn’t resist picking up one of Milani’s new Face Primers. There’s 2 options: the Prime Shield Mattifying & Pore Minimizing Face Primer and the Prime Perfection Hydrating + Pore Minimizing. Of course, I went with the Hydrating + Pore Minimizing Face Primer because my skin is more on the dry side. It’s not often that primers offer hydration and pore minimizing benefits so I just had to pick it up. I’ve only tried it on the back of my hand so far but the texture was very lightweight, absorbed quickly and offered a light dose of moisture while making my skin look smooth and glowy. I think I’m going to like it!

Milani Earthy Elements Everyday Eyes Powder Eyeshadow Collection

Last but certainly not least, I grabbed one of the new Everyday Eyes Powder Eyeshadow Collection palettes in 05 Earthy Neutrals which features 3 shimmer and 3 matte shadows in terra-cotta and neutral blend. I’m a sucker for a good medium brown and warm orange in my crease so it looked like a must have for me. I’m usually leery about trying drugstore eyeshadows (minus NYX, Sleek and sometimes Wet n Wild) because they’re not quite as pigmented and never perform quite as well as a Too Faced or Urban Decay palette. However, it appears that Milani may have done a pretty decent job with the Everyday Eyes Powder Eyeshadow Collection. When I swatched 05 Earthy Neutrals, I found the shadows to have a nice soft texture that’s slightly powdery but still had nice pigmentation. I can’t speak on the performance just yet as I haven’t tried it but I think the Everyday Eyes Powder Eyeshadow Collection is a nice option for makeup newbies who don’t have a ton of palettes lying around.

I’m still on the hunt for the new Amore Matte Lip Cremes and Conceal + Perfect Foundation and Concealer but I’m also thinking about picking up the 04 Plum Basics Palette as well if the 05 Earthy Neutrals work out well. So far, I think Milani has done a bang up job on their Spring 2016 Collection. I definitely recommend heading to your local CVS and Walgreens to check it out!

Want! I was going to pass on the lip oils, but now you’re making me want to get one. Hmm… going to wait and see what you think of the primer, if it’s good like UD’s brightening and tightening, lol.

    1. The lip oils are bomb! The Almond Coco is definitely a must have. I’ve already finished it and I’ll be picking up another tube soon lol. The primer is pretty nice. It’s not as hydrating as the UD Brightening & Tightening but it does have a nice feel and seems to smooth out my complexion nicely though. It’s pretty decent!
