Have you ever had a beauty aha moment? Like, “Wow I can’t believe I’m just now trying this”? The first time I tried MAC Prep + Prime Lip I was so amazed. My lips felt smooth and soft. My lippies went on beautifully and wore much better. It really made me realize how important lip primers are! I know it’s a little tough throwing in another step to toss on a lipstick or gloss but Prep + Prime is more than worth it!
It’s here ladies! The Fantasy of Flowers collection is now available online at MAC. Everything seems to still be in stock except for Snapdragon lipstick. Thankfully, it’ll be available online at Nordstrom on February 3rd and at all MAC locations on February 6th! Please note that the collection is divided into two sections on the site! There’s a pink side and green side where you’ll be able to haul your picks. I was a little confused at first lol. I’m still on the fence but my list looks like Sassy Moss and Phlox Garden fluidlines, Perfect Topping Mineralize Skinfinish and two Snapdragon lipsticks. Are you picking any blossoms from the Fantasy of Flowers collection?
It’s my birthday!! Well, yesterday was my birthday but I’m still in celebration mode. Yes I’m one of THOSE people! I like to celebrate my birthday for at least a week. That’s just how I roll! As usual I started off my personal holiday with a bit of makeup shopping. Turning 24 has to look good right?
I feel like it’s literally been forever since I’ve popped into my local drugstore to stalk the makeup aisles. And you know what? I actually miss it! There’s a lot of perks that come with high end makeup shopping but nothing is more satisfying than a good cheap makeup haul. It’s so nice to grab a few goodies without breaking the bank!
I’ve been so excited about NYX coming to CVS soon! It’s one of my fave budget beauty brands and it’s nice to no longer have to drive across town to check them out. I haven’t spotted any NYX stands at my local CVS stores yet but I know they’ll be coming soon! I just hope they have this amazing new collection as well! Nouveau Cheap has found a way to check for NYX in your area so I recommend checking it out if you’re a big NYX fan like me.
Sometimes when I’m walking through Sephora I just let my mind wander and pick up things just because. It’s a bad habit when you’re a makeup addict! During a visit to check out the Korres Greek Yoghurt Advanced Nourishing Sleeping Facial I checked out the primer and really liked the texture. It’s so creamy! I’ve always used silicone based primers so this formula was a totally new experience for me. And I love it!
The Korres Greek Yoghurt Nourishing Primer is a silicone and paraben free primer enriched with Greek yogurt for smooth makeup application and long lasting wear. It comes out of the tube as a cream but as you apply it melts into sort of like a gel that glides across the skin beautifully with a nice cooling sensation. A little definitely goes a long way with this primer because it is very thick and emollient. Upon application it looks a little greasy but it absorbs in a minute or so to a soft, dewy finish. My makeup glides across my face with this primer and I don’t use as much product. The creamy gel like texture really helps to spread things around. The Greek Yoghurt Nourishing Primer definitely isn’t mattifying so I still set my t-zone with powder if there’s a bit of shine peeking through. Otherwise, it works very well and adds some much needed moisture during this extremely freezing weather.
The Korres Greek Yoghurt Nourishing Primer is available at Sephora for $30.
I’m not exactly sure when this colorful wonder palette will be available but the beauty world is buzzing over this new Urban Decay leak! Last year proved to be a really great year for Urban Decay with the Revolution lipstick line and Naked 3 palette release and the good times just keep rolling. Urban Decay seems to have a lot up their sleeves! One upcoming piece is the Electric eyeshadow palette filled with 10 eye popping bright shades that break away from the Naked haze we’ve been seeing lately. I know neutrals are still pretty hot but it’s nice to have a pop of color every once in a while! Word around the block is that Electric should be available sometime before this summer. Fingers crossed for sooner rather than later!
I swear I need to keep up with these things better! It’s been sooo long since I’ve posted a mani update! My birthday is literally right around the corner so I wanted to share with you my festive confetti nails. This look features two gorgeous Ciate polishes I just recently hauled from Sephora. The main color is a gorgeous ivory beige with a golden sheen called Ivory Queen. While the lovely confetti effect is compliments of the Comic Strip matte glitter mini.
The Ambient Lighting Powders took the beauty world by storm last year and now Hourglass is swirling a bit of pigment in the mix! Meet the new Ambient Lighting Blushes! The six marbled beauties will be making their way to Hourglass’ permanent line up in just a couple weeks and I’m pretty excited. However, if you’re a Sephora VIB and don’t mind being a little hasty these beauties are available now as a special preview until February 1st. Check them out!
This review is so long overdue! I hauled the LORAC Pro Palette last year for my birthday and I’ve been obsessed with it ever since! Naked who? I almost completely abandoned my original Naked palette because the PRO palette is soo good! I’ve already made dips in several shades and actually hit pan on shadow. It’s become my go to palette!
The packaging is simple yet chic. The PRO palette comes in an incredibly slim magnetic casing with silver accents. It’s very lightweight and easy to travel with. The LORAC PRO palette is one of the few eyeshadow palettes I pack with me for EVERY gig! It’s so portable and versatile! Inside you’ll find a nice sized mirror and 16 neutral eyeshadows in a variety of finishes from shimmer to matte. The top half of the palette is completely matte while the bottom half contains the more shimmery shades. I’m completely impressed with the color selection and the fact that there are just as many mattes as shimmery shadows. I prefer to keep the shimmer to my lid (and maybe brow bone) so it’s refreshing to have a palette that isn’t overrun by glitter.
Now here’s where all the magic happens! All of the eyeshadows in the PRO palette are very pigmented, buttery and blend very well. Including the mattes! They’re some of the best matte shadows I have ever tried! Although the shadows are buttery soft I don’t get much fallout and they don’t feel powdery. Each shade is silky to the touch and easily picked up with both natural and synthetic hair brushes. Without primer I easily get over 8 hours of wear before I notice any fading. I do have drier lids though so oily gals will probably fare much better with a good ol’ primer underneath! On top of primer, these shadows have carried me through a long night and the next morning! LORAC definitely knows how to do eyeshadows! I honestly can’t think of one bad thing to say about the LORAC PRO palette. It has 6 more eyeshadows than the Urban Decay Naked palette and is $10 cheaper ($42). I just hate that the brand is being phased out of Sephora so it’s no longer available there. But there’s always Ulta and Nordstrom!
