Beauty Hack: Blush & Bronzer on the Eyes

MAC Taraji Glow Mineralize Skinfinish and Makeup Revolution Rock on World Vivid Baked Bronzer Swatches on Dark Skin

Have you ever woke up for work one morning just too tired to deal? You want to get out of bed but you’re too tired to move. Then you finally get up, hit the bathroom and then stare at the makeup you’re still too tired to use. I get it girl! I’ve been there, done that. Hell, I’ve done it so much that I’ve started looking for little ways to cut time from my morning routine so I could sleep in just a little while longer and do my makeup a little bit faster.

My latest morning beauty hack is simple but mind-blowing because I can’t believe I haven’t thought about it before. Instead of using eyeshadow in the morning, try using a little of your blush and bronzer on the eyes for a quick, natural look that requires almost no effort. On a normal day, I typically skip the eyeshadow because it takes up too much time blending 2-4 colors together for a seamless look. But one day I decided to rock the blush and bronzer I picked out for the day on my eyes and magic was made in less than 10 minutes. I rejoiced!

My Secret Weapons for Brighter, More Even Skin

Murad Essential-C Cleanser, Pixi Glow Tonic Exfoliating Toner, Murad Essential-C Day Moisture

Fighting those dreadful signs of aging is definitely high up on the skincare priority list but achieving a brighter, more even complexion is certainly right behind it! The only thing more annoying than dealing with fine lines, dullness and wrinkles is an uneven complexion marked with dark spots. Hyper-pigmentation (or dark spots) are common under the eyes, around the mouth and forehead for many people–myself included. For years, I’ve pretty much accepted the fact that dark spots were just a way of life because I had no idea that there was a way to diminish them. Boy was I wrong!

Through the years, I’ve been learning a ton more about skincare and I was shocked to learn how a simple tweak in your routine could transform the appearance and texture of skin. Even when it comes to dark spots. Hyper-pigmentation isn’t a skincare struggle we’re faced to deal with. It’s actually easy to treat and correct with the right products and lots of persistence. Less than a year ago, I introduced 3 new products to my skincare routine just to see what they were all about. After a few weeks of consistently using them I started realize a difference in the appearance of my skin. Not only was my complexion visibly brighter and more radiant but my dark spots were also beginning to fade leaving my skin looking more even and healthy. It would be totally selfish of me not to share my skincare secrets with you so I’m going to walk you through exactly how I achieved a brighter, more even complexion using my 3 secret weapons.

3 Products Your Skin Needs After 25

Philosophy Renewed Hope in a Jar Overnight Recharging & Refining Moisturizer, Clinique All About Eyes, Juice Beauty Green Apple Age Defy Serum

Let’s be honest. We aren’t going to stay young forever. It would be nice to discover that miracle fountain of youth but I don’t see it happening anytime soon. That’s why I’m putting together this quick “guide” to help you navigate your life when it comes to skincare after you turn 25. I’ve never had too many struggles with my skin before but I’ve noticed some changes to my skin after I turned 25. It began to feel even drier and required more moisture than it did a few years ago. I’ve developed some fine lines and thirsty spots that require constant moisture and attention. I freaked out for a second but I soon realized that I had to take a slightly different approach to taking care of my skin. Which is completely normal. Regardless of your skin struggles, we all could benefit from adding a few products to our skincare routines after 25 to make sure we age gracefully and give our skin everything it needs to look its best at all times.

Completely Remove the Day by Double Cleansing

Lancome Galatee Confort Milky Cream Cleanser, Bobbi Brown Soothing Cleansing Oil, Double Cleanse

Ahhh removing your makeup. It’s so bittersweet. You have to wipe away that precious slay you crafted yet you finally get to touch your face and relax. The most important goal of removing your makeup though is to keep your skin clean, clear and healthy so it looks good under all your favorite products. Not covered in breakouts and such because your pores are clogged. That’s no good!

However, completely removing your makeup can be easier said that done sometimes. Especially if you’re a makeup junkie who likes to rock a full face. Getting off all of the foundation, waterproof eye makeup, concealer and indestructible liquid lipsticks can be tricky but certainly not impossible. Thanks to Danielle, The Style & Beauty Doctor, I’ve been double cleansing to thoroughly remove my makeup and it works like a charm — no matter how much cake I’m wearing.

Brush Cleaning Made Easy with the Sephora Precision Pore Cleaning Pad

Sephora Precision Pore Cleansing Pad

What if I told you, you could wash 20+ brushes and 2 sponges in under 30 minutes? I’m not playing, girl! There’s a reason everyone has been ordering those expensive brush cleaning gloves for $40. They seriously cut cleansing time in half! However, I wasn’t about to shell out over 2 MAC lipsticks worth of money for rubber gloves so I set out for alternatives. Originally, I went to Sephora in search of their solid Beauty Beauty cleanser dupe that comes with a ridged brush pad. Of course, it was sold out but I did spot something interesting to try instead.

How to Keep Your Lips Moisturized Under Your Matte Lipstick

How to keep your lips moisturized under your matte lipstick: Dior Creme de Rose Smoothing Plumping Lip Balm, Nivea A Kiss of Moisture Essential Lip Care, Makeup Academy Sugar Lip Scrub, Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask

With all these matte lipstick lines popping up left and right (Milani, Kat Von D, MAC, etc) it’s enough to make your head spin and your lips flake up. Because let’s admit it. Even the most comfortable matte lipstick will eventually start to suck the moisture out of your lips. It’s just the nature of the beast. So here’s a few tips and suggestions to keep the flakes at bay and let your matte lipstick live up to its full potential.

Want Long, Thick Hair? Try Jamaican Black Castor Oil!

Jamaican Mango & Lime Jamaican Black Castor Oil

Can you believe that just adding a little Jamaican Black Castor Oil to your routine can completely transform your hair? You should! For centuries, Jamaican Black Castor Oil has been a hair care staple for many reasons. It’s extremely moisturizing, conditions and strengthens the hair and it increases hair growth. It’s pretty much a miracle oil!

I bought the Jamaican Mango & Lime Jamaican Black Castor Oil many months ago and I’ve used it pretty much everyday since. In fact, I’ve already finished this bottle and went back to grab another. My relaxed hair is very thick and very dry so I’m always on the lookout for products that make my life a little easier and this is it. Since I’m always pretty busy and too tired (lazy) to really do anything to my hair I live in a high bun. Which is great for protecting my ends and retaining length but not so much for the edges over time if I’m not careful. However, I apply a little water and a dime sized amount of Jamaican Black Castor Oil to my edges everyday to keep them nice and healthy and prevent them from thinning out.

How to Leave the Nail Salon Smudge Free

Physicians Formula Argan Wear Ultra Nourishing Argan Oil

I don’t know about you guys but I always smudge my nails after leaving the salon. Always. Between my short attention span and my lack of desire to sit in any salon I always end up jetting out of there maybe 2 minutes or so after the manicurist applies the top coat. Or maybe less. Because it always seems like I’ve been sitting there forever and my nails should be dry by now. But nope.

So I’ve finally joined SnapChat! If you’re not familiar with SnapChat, it’s a picture and video sharing app you can download on your smartphone (iOS and Android). Everyone has been obsessed with it lately so I figured I’d give it a go too. I love Instagram (follow me here) and as I’m saving up for some YouTube equipment (extremely excited!!) I thought it would be a cool idea to ease myself into it via SnapChat. Since I mostly work evenings and nights, I often don’t have time to catch the daylight and snap some good pics. However, I can still add some pretty fuzzy ones on SnapChat from my front facing camera while slacking off in the break room, right? And how about some quick yet awkward “get ready with me” vids and tutorials, too? Sounds like it could be fun! Meet me over on SC to join in! My screen name is: fancieland.
