MAC Highlight the Truth Mineralize Skinfinish, MAC Taraji Glow Mineralize Skinfinish, MAC Strip Me Down, Too Faced Born This Way Foundation in Mahogany, Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette

Let’s take a quick break from all these incredibly tempting new fall and holiday collections. Shall we? I don’t know about you but my head is spinning from all the newness in the beauty world right now. It’s so overwhelming! Lately, I’ve been finding myself spending and spending on more and more makeup that I don’t need. But I love shiny new things so I can never quite help myself.

I’ve been trying to keep myself a little grounded a little bit by exploring some old goodies in my collection and showing lots of love to the newer stuff that I’ve been buying and it’s been helping. Somewhat. Last month, I found myself reaching for a few of the same products every time I did my makeup. Which is nice because I got a chance to really appreciate some products that deserved lots of love and attention.

Hello, Again Smashbox!

Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer, Smashbox Studio Skin Foundation 4.2, Smashbox Color Correcting Stick Dark

There are a lot of brands out there that don’t always get the love and recognition they deserve and Smashbox is certainly one of them. After discovering the magic of Smashbox recently, I decided to start paying a little more attention to the brand and trying out more products. If their blush and eyeshadow is good stuff then there has to be other hidden gems too, right? Right! Smashbox is actually a solid brand all around in terms of both color and complexion. But what Smashbox really excels in is complexion. For years, Smashbox has received the most love for their extensive collection of primer for all skin types and concerns. However, Smashbox isn’t all primer. They’ve got some other great complexion goodies too!

Make Your Imperfections Vanish with Hourglass

Influenster Hourglass Vanish Vox Box

It’s always a pleasant surprise when I receive random goodies in the mail from Influenster but the latest Hourglass Vanish Vox Box is the best one yet. This Vox Box is bomb! Hourglass recently released a new line of foundation sticks and Influenster sent me one along with the coordinating foundation brush to review for you guys. I don’t usually reach for foundation sticks but I was still beyond excited to get my hands on the new Hourglass Vanish Foundation Stick because it’s been receiving glowing reviews since it released and Hourglass makes some seriously nice, luxury makeup.

Stay Beat in the Heat with these Summer Foundations

Bobbi Brown Skin Weightless Powder Foundation, Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation, Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup, Clinique Stay Matte Oil Free Makeup, NARS Pure Radiance Tinted Moisturizer

Loving makeup or having to rock a polished face to work on a regular basis can be fun at times. You get to flex your creativity by adding a little color to your day or take on the world feeling a powerfully beautiful new version of yourself. The downside, is that rocking makeup isn’t always sunshine and roses. Especially in the summer. You go from worrying about moisturizing and masking enough in the winter to stressing over how to keep your face flawless in 90º weather. I know the struggle, girl. Even as a dry gal, I can’t always keep my beat fresh and flawless in the summer heat without feeling like my foundation is melting or caking up something terrible. Over the years, though, I’ve learned that switching up your foundation (and skincare which we’ll discuss that later) helps a great deal to keep your makeup looking fresh and sweat free from sun up to sun down. So I’ve put together a quick guide to help you choose your perfect summer foundation that’ll help you stay flawless all season.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Definition Powder Foundation Review

Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Defintion Powder Foundation in Dark Warm

My skin can be pretty dry all year round which leaves me relying on rich moisturizers and liquid foundations most of the time. But every now and then, I come across a powder foundation that I absolutely love and find myself reaching for quite often. My first powder foundation love was Make Up For Ever’s Pro Finish Multi-Use Powder but it appears that I’ve found a new love in the Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Definition Powder Foundation. Usually powders have a tendency to accentuate my dry skin and put my fine lines on blast but the Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Definition Powder Foundation is different though. The Naked Skin Ultra Definition actually makes my dry skin look smooth, even and flawless without putting my dryness on blast.

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation Review

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation in Mahogany

Foundation can be a tricky product to buy because there’s so many different brands, formulas, undertones and more to take into account before you make a decision. I can be a bit picky when it comes to foundation so I like to stick to what I know and love without switching up as much as I would a lipstick or nail polish. However, I became curious when Too Faced released their new Born This Way Foundation and it quickly became a social media sensation. It takes me a while to hop on board when it comes to new foundations but I was forced to sit this one out for a bit because the original launch of Born This Way only consisted of 50 shades of beige that only a light to medium guys and gals could fit into. Not cool, Too Faced.

New Too Faced Goodies!

Too Faced Born This Way, Mr. Right Powder Brush, Candlelight Glow

I’m no mind reader but I definitely predict that Too Faced will be taking over my makeup collection this year. The spring collection has already gotten a lot of my coins and from the looks of Instagram the upcoming summer collection is going to be bomb too. Too Faced can pretty much just have all of my money at this point because they’ve been whipping up some wonderful products over there. Which is exactly why I didn’t hesitate at all when I came across a $20 off $40 coupon at HSN that applied to their beauty department as well. Bring on the discount Too Faced!

Maybelline Spring 2016 Collection Now Available at Ulta!

Maybelline Spring 2016 at Ulta

It’s raining new products at Ulta and I’m going broke because of it! LOL I’m kidding. But I’ve definitely been hauling my butt off lately. Between all the new drugstore and prestige releases that have been coming back to back I’ve been losing my mind. It’s like I can’t catch up! The latest spring collection to catch my attention comes from Maybelline. Like NYX, Maybelline has whipped up a lot of new products. And they’re looking mighty nice!

New Foundation Time!

New Foundation Time!

New year, new foundation! For years, I’ve been relying on my trusty Make Up For Ever Pro Finish Multi-Use Powder to even my complexion and help me look flawless but now that the new year is here I think it’s time to finally try something different. At first, I was determined to completely finish the Pro Finish Powder since I’ve never completely finished a foundation. Or an entire powder. When you collect makeup like Pokemon, it’s a huge accomplishment to actually finish a product. Especially something long lasting like a foundation.

New Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Shades Now Available!

Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless New Shades

Ask and you shall receive! Maybelline’s new Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation has been a huge hit since it was first released last year but the biggest complaint was the shade range. Don’t get me wrong. Maybelline kicked off the Matte + Poreless line with a great start featuring 14 shades. However, a lot of gals were still left out of the mix struggling to find their perfect match in Matte + Poreless. It looks like Maybelline has recognized the beauty in all shades by adding 8 more shades to the Matte + Poreless line to cover a broader spectrum of skin tones. Makeup junkies rejoice! Although 355 Coconut is a perfect match for me I’m excited that other brown gals will get to experience Matte + Poreless too. The Maybelline Fit Me line features the best drugstore foundation and concealer I’ve ever tried and I love that I can now recommend it to more WOC. There’s no word on exactly when we’ll see these 8 new shades pop up in stores or online but I’d say keep an eye out for them ’cause I assume they’ll be landing very soon!

Have you tried the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation yet?
