My Favorite MAC Highlighters

MAC My Mimi Extra Dimension Skinfinish, Double Definition Extra Dimension Skinfinish, Shape the Future Extra Dimension Skinfinish, Whisper of Gilt Extra Dimension Skinfinish, Magnetic Appeal Extra Dimension Skinfinish

I may not be a die hard MAC girl anymore but MAC will always hold a special place in my heart! That’s why I’m back with a double attack of MAC this Monday. I’ve already got you set with the coral lips for spring so let’s move on to some of the most popping highlighters MAC has ever released. Shall we?

Over the years, I’ve grown a serious addiction to MAC highlighters. The Extra Dimension Skinfinish ones to be exact. MAC describes their Extra Dimension Skinfinish formula as:

A liquid-powder highlighter that gives a luminous, well-defined finish.”

5 MAC Coral Lipsticks for Spring

MAC Flamingo Lustre Lipstick, Sushi Kiss Satin Lipstick, Vegas Volt Amplified Creme Lipstick, Toying Around Satin Lipstick, Party Parrot Matte Lipstick

Happy MAC Monday, ladies! If you’ve been hanging around Fancieland since the beginning then you probably remember the days when I used to go stir crazy for MAC. I had to have every new lipstick in every new shade that would flatter me. Boy was that exhausting! I definitely don’t miss those crazy days of hunting down collections and lipsticks but part of me does miss the excitement that a new MAC lipstick would bring every time I popped the cap and smelled the sweet, warm vanilla scent. In an effort to hold on to that nostalgia I’ve put together a nice treat for you this MAC Monday. Starting with some coral lips for spring! 💋

Get Sexy Bedroom Eyes with the NYX Lid Lingerie Shadow Palette!

NYX Lid Lingerie Shadow Palette First Impressions Swatches Dark Skin

When I first started blogging, I was all about drugstore makeup as I was just discovering and exploring the wonderful world of makeup. I soon switched over to the high end side once I felt myself getting the hang of things but I can’t lie. I miss drugstore makeup! There’s a lot of new products and collections rolling out that are mighty tempting. Tempting enough to say skip the high end splurge and get back to saving a couple bucks!

I already know some of you are over there thinking, “How can you go back to drugstore from high end?!” Simple. The quality of drugstore products has gotten way better. I’m talking leaps and bounds. I never in a million years thought I’d be comparing a drugstore eyeshadow palette to my beloved Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette. But the day finally came when I took a leap of faith with the NYX Lid Lingerie Shadow Palette.

The thought of liquid eyeshadow can be scary. Almost like applying foundation to your lids in an effort to create a masterpiece. I shudder at the thought. Trying to blend together foundation for a quick look just sounds daunting. Thank goodness liquid eyeshadows are totally different! I’ve been hooked on the Armani Eye Tint Liquid Eyeshadows for months (thanks Influenster!) because they’re insanely easy to use, quick and quite versatile. In fact, the Armani Eye Tint Liquid Eyeshadows have become my go to for creating quick, everyday smoky eyes.

Project BOMB: Iman Luxury Contour Trio

Project BOMB: Iman Luxury Contour Trio Swatches on Dark Skin

Black History Month may be over but that doesn’t mean I can’t show my BOMBs some love! Even in 2017, you’d be hard pressed to find brands that cater to women of all skin tones. Especially the luscious chocolate ones. That’s why it’s so important to embrace, celebrate and support the brands that do. And what better what to do that than celebrate the #melaninmagic of brands created by black women themselves? Yaaaaaas, honey!

Fancie Faves

Clinique All About Eyes Serum, Laura Geller Lip Strip Smoothing Sugar Scrub, Milani Golden Light Face and Eye Strobe Palette, Juvia's Place Mini Masquerade Eyeshadow Palette, Tarte Tarteist Pro Glow Highlighting and Contour Palette, Fiona Stiles Miramar Invisible Loose Setting Powder

Now that we’ve got all of my January empties out of the way let’s move on to my faves, shall we? The plan was to get my faves and empties up together. But having a jam packed birthday weekend and then a crippling sinus infection the following week really threw me off. Way off. I’m talking mouth breathing for 4 days straight and putting my pants on backwards for an interview off. LOL!

Needless to say, January was a very long month but a lot of good came from it. Like ringing in the New Year and spending my birthday and Valentine’s Day with my amazing boyfriend. And trying a handful of new products that turned out to be the bomb.com. There’s nothing better than love and good makeup, right?

January Empties!

It Cosmetics No. 50 Serum Anti-Aging Collagen Primer, Peter Thomas Roth Un-Wrinkle Turbo Face Serum, Prada Candy Eau de Parfum, Clinique All About Eyes Eye Cream, Bare Minerals Skin Longevity Vital Power Infusion

Let’s take a quick break from Project BOMB, shall we? You’ve probably noticed that I’ve picked up a ton of new goodies in the last few months but what you probably didn’t know is that I’ve also been determined to start using what’s already in my stash more. Whether you’re a beauty blogger or beauty enthusiast, it’s easy to get caught up in the hype of the hottest shiny new product but what really matters is actually using the stuff. No sense in wasting money on things you won’t use, right?

With this logic in mind, I decided to start going hard with a few products that I knew I could finish up with a little consistency and determination. In just a few months, I managed to finish up a handful of beauty products. Woo hoo! Most of it was skincare, of course, but I’m still pretty impressed that I was able to stick with these products for so long. Here’s a rundown of my January empties:

Plant Kisses for Days with the NYX Liquid Suede Vault!

NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick Vault Swatches on Dark Skin

Don’t you hate when you set out to do something and then you get too busy to follow through? That’s exactly what happened to me all throughout the holiday season. I intended to show you guys so much more from swatches to looks but holiday at Ulta was slammed and it left me tired and playing a nasty game of catch up well into the new year. Take for instance the lovely limited edition NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick Vault that dropped during holiday. It featured a whopping 24 mini Liquid Suede lipsticks for just $50. Crazy good, right?!

Except for the fact that it took me about 2 months to really sit down to shoot, arm swatch and also lip swatch all 24 shades. Whew! Unfortunately, the NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick Vault is all sold out by now. However, I still wanted to share all these swatches with you because all of the shades are permanent and readily available (in full sizes of course) at Ulta. So I guess we’ll just consider this a NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick library to help you shop!

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge is Really a Miracle!

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge Review

When the Beauty Blender first hit the scene, I knew I had to have it because it was considered the sponge to have for a perfect makeup application. And it was. Before the Beauty Blender, we were stuck with those bland white makeup wedges that were either too soft and soaked up way too much product or too stiff to blend. The Beauty Blender changed the game and also opened the flood gates for other brands to come up with their own makeup sponges to compete.
