Happy April! I know I’m a couple days late but the start of a fresh, new month is always a cause to celebrate. Especially when it’s pushing us that much closer to summer. Yaaaaas! Besides sunny skies and fun vibes, I’m pretty pumped about April because there’s a ton of new products and collections rolling out right now and it’s got me bouncing off the walls. You know I’m all about enjoying new makeup!

I actually spent a great deal of March exploring new makeup too. After the dust from the holiday madness finally settled, brands started pumping out stuff left and right and I felt like Ash on a never-ending quest to catch them all. Obviously, I failed, because keeping up with every release is just obsessive. However, I did manage to try a handful of new products that turned out to be so amazing that I’m still reaching for them constantly. Here’s a peek at all the products I loved last month:

Now that we’ve got all of my January empties out of the way let’s move on to my faves, shall we? The plan was to get my faves and empties up together. But having a jam packed birthday weekend and then a crippling sinus infection the following week really threw me off. Way off. I’m talking mouth breathing for 4 days straight and putting my pants on backwards for an interview off. LOL!

Needless to say, January was a very long month but a lot of good came from it. Like ringing in the New Year and spending my birthday and Valentine’s Day with my amazing boyfriend. And trying a handful of new products that turned out to be the bomb.com. There’s nothing better than love and good makeup, right?

Tarte Tarteist Pro Glow Palette Swatches on Dark Skin

When Tarte randomly decided to send a handful of beauty bloggers to Bora Bora a lot of us were left scratching our heads in confusion. There was jet skis, drones and highlighted cheeks everywhere. Who knew that trip would bless us with 2 new Tarte palettes right in time for the new year? For quite some time now, Tarte has been inching highlighters into their lineup bit by bit. First, we got a little glimpse of Tarte’s highlighters in the Tarteist Contour PalettesThen, Tarte slipped a little peek into their Color Wheel Blush Palette. Next thing you know, Tarte has a standalone highlighter and a full blown highlighting palette that comes equipped with contour goodies too. Talk about progress!

It wasn’t all bad though! We saw a lot of great releases, collaborations and more in the beauty community last year that blessed us with a lot of great products. I know I’m a little late to the party but there was no way I could truly kiss 2016 goodbye until I shared all of my favorite products with you. It’s only right!

Happy New Year! Is it just me or is anyone else glad that the holiday season is finally over? When you work in retail the holiday season feels like a rollercoaster. As Thanksgiving approaches, it’s like you’re slowly chugging up that massive hill preparing for that stomach wrenching drop. Once Thanksgiving finally rears its head, you’re at the top of the hill and it’s starting to drop down at the speed at light. That’s exactly how this past holiday season felt. A long, crazy paced, never-ending rollercoaster. I’m exhausted!

Believe it or not, I’m just now getting a chance to slow down and round up my 2016 faves and my Christmas gifts to share with you. It’s crazy how much I missed you guys! Work has been kicking my butt but one of my goals for the new year is to be more engaged with you and to give you more quality content than you can handle. So the show must go on!

Paint Your Eyes Like a Pro with the Tarte Tarteist Pro Palette

Tarte Tarteist Pro Palette Swatches on Dark Skin

Are you ready for another neutral eyeshadow palette? No? Too bad. ‘Cause they’re still coming! I know after a while the sudden influx of neutral eyeshadow palettes that pop up year after year gets old. You quickly go from, “OMG, I need that new palette!” to “How many shades of browns are there, really?” I was stuck in between the two when Tarte released the new Tarteist Pro Palette. I love Tarte’s Amazonian Clay eyeshadow formula so I was excited to see them whip up a new palette. However, once I took a good look at the Tarteist Pro Palette I started to wonder, “What makes this so different from every other neutral palette on the market?”

No matter how much new makeup I buy I always find myself reaching for some of the same products over and over again. Of course, I like to switch a few things up from time to time but when it comes to certain products I like to just stick to what works. Especially when I’ve got a busy schedule ahead of me. That’s why I ended up keeping the same handful of products in rotation last month. Nothing’s better than a quick everyday beat with your faves!

Tarte’s Kissing Squad Lip Sculptor Quad is a Steal!

Tarte Kissing Squad Lip Sculptor Squad Lipstick and Gloss Set Swatches on Dark Skin

Liquid lipsticks are life. True enough. But I can’t act like juicy, glossy poppin’ lips aren’t the move all year round! Most times, I do like to gravitate towards mattes throughout fall and winter but mattes can be a little drying. And when you’re talking to people nonstop for hours a day matte lips aren’t always ideal. They start to crack, peel and get all dry. Then before you know it, you’re lips are pretty much hanging off your face and you have no idea how bad it is until you pass a mirror. Tragic.

Tarte Swamp Queen Palette is Back!

Tarte Swamp Queen Palette, MAC Nutcracker Sweet Copper Face Compact, Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner, Bite Beauty Cava Matte Creme Lip Crayon

I don’t know about you but I just love when limited edition goodies make a comeback. As a beauty blogger, I try to make it my duty to try everything new and snatch up limited edition products to give you an early scoop. Sometimes I find myself in sticky situations because I can’t always afford the latest and greatest right when it comes out. That often leads me to waiting on a restock, waiting to shoot it, test it and then finally post about it. Which defeats the purpose of it all if it manages to sell out by the time I share it with you. Talk about a never-ending loop!
