Urban Decay 1993 Matte Revolution Lipstick Review

Urban Decay 1993 Matte Revolution Lipstick

You know what I’ve been wearing a lot lately? Nude lips. Now that brands are finally stepping away from the “one nude lipstick fits all” model it’s become much more easier to embrace nudes. Especially for us brown skin gals. Today, there’s a wide range of deep browns, funky grieges and more that add a twist to the classic nude lip. Not to mention, making them easier to wear. A huge plus for me!

I’ve always liked the look of nude lips but I’m not the biggest fan of the maintenance that comes with them–especially if it’s a matte. I’m gonna need a good, hydrating balm, lots of lip liner and a gloss on standby to fiercely pull off a matte nude. Well, usually that’s the case.

These days, I’ve been enjoying a much simpler routine using Urban Decay’s new 1993 Matte Revolution Lipstick. It’s a warm peachy brown with a creamy matte finish that’s incredibly fuss free. No lip liner or balm required!

1993 glides on smoothly and evenly with a lightweight creamy texture and full coverage in a single swipe. There’s a slight sheen upon application but 1993 soon sets to a shine-free matte finish that lasts for around 4-5 hours before fading into a light stain. There’s a lot to love about 1993 but what I enjoy the most is how it doesn’t dry out my lips and that it doesn’t fade all funky and patchy making my lips look disgustingly dry by the end of the day.

The formula reminds me a lot of the original Revolution Lipstick formula with it’s plush, creamy texture and long lasting goodness–just with a matte finish. If you often struggle with matte nudes, then I definitely think you should check out Urban Decay 1993 Matte Revolution Lipstick at your local Ulta or Sephora.

I really like this shade. I need to snag it. It’s very authentically 90s. I remember wearing something very similar back in the day.

    Looks great on you !
