NYX I Dream of St. Thomas Review

The NYX I Dream of St. Thomas palette is part of the line’s Caribbean Collection which features 10 different island themed 5 pan eyeshadow palettes. I love the theme NYX picked for this collection! It’s fun and cute!

The I Dream of St. Thomas palette comes in a sleek, slim black plastic casing that flips open revealing 5 shimmery shadows, a mirror and 2 sponge tip applicators. I really like the packaging. It’s simple, cute and perfect for traveling! I don’t think it’s very sturdy but it’s been holding up pretty well in my purse and makeup though!

The formulation of the shadows in this palette isn’t too bad! The shadows are very pigmented (you can see the swatches here). They appear pretty vibrant alone, wet, or when worn over an eyeshadow base! I have experienced some fallout with these shadows but applying them wet or over a base drastically helps! The shadows apply and blend very softly and last pretty long with or without primer. I did notice a little creasing but nothing serious I promise!

The color selection of this palette was a little odd but in a good way! I like that if I wanted a nice day look or super bold night look I could easily pull it off with just 5 colors! The only thing I don’t really care for about this palette is that all of the shadows are shimmery. I like mattes! Especially in my crease and to highlight my brow bone! But it still wasn’t a bad buy at all! You get 5 great quality shadows for only $8.50! Plus the pans are pretty large!

All shimmers or not I still recommend!
