Maybelline Color Tattoo Bad to the Bronze Swatches & Review

I’ve had this for quite a little while now and it’s definitely time for a review! I actually wish I would have posted about this sooner because it’s definitely one of my top five eyeshadows. After hearing everyone rave about how awesome the Maybelline Color Tattoos were I ran out and grabbed a few. I’m big on neutrals so of course I had to get Bad to the Bronze!

I really like the packaging of these. They come in small glass jars with the brand and product name on the bottom and a black screw top. It’s not super small but I don’t find them to be excessively bulky either. The packaging is very simple but it works for me. Very chic, Maybelline!

The color is a bit weird to me but I definitely still like it! In the jar it comes off more on the taupe side but when applied it appears more bronze. It does have a bit of shimmer but not too much. If you want a subtle wash of color with a hint of shimmer this it! And it’s great for those wanting a super haute metallic look too! All you have to do is build it up a bit. I love how versatile it is!

The formula is very impressive for a drugstore shadow. The texture is very smooth and creamy without feeling slippery. I also love that the glitter isn’t very chunky so it doesn’t feel gritty. This shadow glides on beautifully and doesn’t smudge much once dry. I love to use this mostly as a base for my powder shadows but it’s certainly pigmented enough to wear alone. Plus, it actually does last a really long time. Even without primer! I accidentally fell asleep in this one day and woke up the next morning to find it still holding. I don’t think Maybelline’s 24 hour claim is too far off for me!

The quality of this cream shadow is simply amazing to me! It’s very long lasting, pigmented and pretty versatile. I also find it pretty affordable at just $7. Plus you can always find a nice sale at Walgreens and CVS. Here’s my final thoughts:

Pros

  • pigmented
  • long lasting
  • blends well
  • excellent eyeshadow base
  • affordable
  • easy to find
  • versatile

Cons

  • may crease on you oily gals
  • can set a little too quickly

10/10

  1. I love this color! This product is great, the only one I had a hard time with was the purple, when I reesearched it looks like most did. This is for sure one of my fave colors from the collection 😀

I just love these things! Definitely the best bases I’ve ever used. I’ve never tried the purple one but now I know to avoid it lol. Thanks!
