Ben Nye Banana Powder Review

Kim Kardashian’s makeup artist might have started the buzz around Ben Nye’s Banana Powder but the quality definitely speaks for itself! It’s amazing! I’ve always lusted over that flawless airbrush finish setting powders give but I’ve always been leery on using them because they’re typically stark white. Although the finish is translucent, darker complexions can appear gray or ashy if not applied properly.

This is no problem for banana powder! The light yellow tint makes this an excellent setting powder for concealer! The finely milled luxury powder helps tremendously with creasing and makes my concealer last all day. The finish is absolutely beautiful! It’s extremely natural and the yellow tint helps brighten your under eye area even more. I find the best way to apply this powder is to press it in with a sponge, let it set for a minute or so and then brush away the excess. The result is a flawless, crease free finish!

The only downsides are availability and the packaging. If you don’t live near a theatre or costume store you’ll have to order this online from Camera Ready Cosmetics or Makeup Mania. It’s pretty affordable at $7-9 however supply can be limited because of all the hype surrounding it. The packaging isn’t terrible but it’s messy as all get out. I can’t tell you how many times I redecorated my vanity with this stuff. I’ve considered taping some of the openings but sometimes I have a difficult time getting enough powder out using all of them. I’m just not a fan of sifters! Other than those minor issues this is an amazing powder. It feels like butter and works extremely well! I totally recommended!
