MAC Baking Beauties Haul
My, my, my! MAC has really been working overtime! It seems like every time I blink MAC is releasing another beautiful collection! Last month was all about Fashion Sets but now the focus is on Baking Beauties! MAC released this collection last week and luckily everything didn’t sell out super quickly. I actually had a pretty long wishlist for this collection but I managed to keep this haul short and sweet (for now!)
I originally went in for just Lavender Whip and Raspberry Swirl but I walked out with a Cheery Cherry Mineralize Tinted Lip Balm and In For a Treat Pearlmatte. After swatching the lipsticks I started messing around the with Mineralized Tinted Balms and Pearlmattes and it went downhill from there! I also managed to purchase Lavender Whip but it was already sold out by the time I got to my local MAC counter so I had to order it (boooooo!). At the moment, I decided to pass on Pure Decoration and Raspberry Swirl but I think I may go back for them and an Eclair paint pot too!
From left to right: Raspberry Swirl, Devil’s Food, Pure Decoration, Lavender Whip
I’m a pretty big fan of MAC’s cremesheen formula so I was pretty impressed with the lipsticks in this collection. All of them felt pretty creamy and had great pigmentation. I liked all of the shades except Devil’s Food which I thought would be more plum but it looks really brown. Raspberry Swirl is a really pretty blue based bubble gum pink. Pure Decoration is a light peachy nude that I think would look wonderful on women of color. Lavender Whip (my fave in this collection) is a gorgeous pinky lavender. I can’t wait to get my hands on it!
I initially planned on skipping the Mineralize Tinted Lip Balms because they seriously lack pigment and are super expensive but I decided to give one a try anyone and I actually like it! It’s pretty moisturizing and the wear time is pretty good. It’s a little thick and sticky but it doesn’t bother me at all.
In For A Treat was a total impulse buy but I don’t regret it! I only swatched it because I was curious about the texture of pearlmattes but I fell in love with it. It’s pretty pigmented and it has the perfect amount of shimmer. It’s not metallic like the Extra Dimension Skinfinish powders but it still gives quite a beautiful sheen. I found the gold portion to be the most pigmented and the coral flowers to be a little less intense. Everything is pretty shimmery in this pearlmatte except for the coral flowers. They have a more satiny texture. I hope it looks as pretty applied as it does in the pan!
I am glad you did swatches because I thought I was missing out. Thanks.
I liked this collection but not as much as the others coming up!
