Best of 2013: Concealer
I don’t wear concealer daily but oddly enough it was tricky picking out my faves for this category! I’ve discovered some pretty amazing formulas this year and I try to rotate them to get more use out of them. But I noticed no matter what concealer I tried to toss into my usual routine these babies held their place!
Tarte Deep Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Waterproof Concealer is a full coverage vitamin rich cream concealer that goes on buttery smooth and looks soo natural! I’ve always strayed away from full coverage concealers because they can feel heavy and look cakey but the Smooth Operator concealer just melts into my skin. It’s super easy to apply and blend without too much settling. It’s perfect for those “no makeup” looks!
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer #30 will always be my all time favorite concealer! I feel like such a goofball/weirdo for not having a full review up yet! This drugstore liquid concealer offers light to medium coverage and a flawless finish. The consistency is perfect for everyday use. It’s not runny so it stays put and it isn’t too thick or creamy so I have very little issues with creasing. Plus the #30 shade is a perfect match for me! It’s just a step lighter than my skin tone. So I can achieve a subtle or dramatic highlight with ease.
NARS Caramel & Amdande Radiant Creamy Concealer is very similar to Maybelline Fit Me but it’s thicker and has more coverage. As you’ve probably guessed these are my go to concealers for long nights out. The formula lasts through even the hottest of nightclubs without much fading all. I love using Amdande when I’m trying to achieve a natural look because it’s a bit closer to my skin tone. Caramel, on the other hand, is great for giving me that glamorous Kim K Hollywood highlight.
