It looks like 2014 is going to be the year of the celebrity for MAC! Back in January, we saw Rihanna grace the ads of Viva Glam. Kelly and Sharon Osbourne are gearing up for a mom and daughter collaboration. Now, MAC is adding “Royals” singer, Lorde, to the all star lineup! Lorde tweeted a couple of days ago that she’ll be releasing her very own MAC project on June 5th. I must say, I was a little confused when I first read the news over on Specktra. Lorde is still pretty new on the scene and it doesn’t look like she wears much makeup besides her signature vampy lips so I totally didn’t see this coming. But I think her collaboration with MAC may still be pretty interesting! Not only will it draw in a younger demographic for the makeup powerhouse but it could introduce a new trend too. I’m guessing there will be a vampy lipstick (or two or three) released and typically we reserve those colors for fall and winter. Since this will be a summer release it seems that MAC is pushing the makeup world to break out of “seasonal” colors and vamp it up all year round. Hmmm. Who knows? Right now, a release date is all we have right now but fingers crossed we get some solid leaks sooner than later!
