Maybelline Faint For Fuchsia Color Sensational Matte Lipstick Review
I’ve only tried a handful of Maybelline lipsticks but I enjoyed them so much that I didn’t hesitate to snatch up every shade that was still available in the new Color Sensational Matte Lipstick display. Huge mistake! As a blogger, I always feel the need to rush out and grab the latest and greatest but sometimes it pays to sit back and wait for the reviews first. Trust me!
Faint For Fuchsia is only the second shade I’ve tried from my Color Sensational Matte Lipstick haul but I’m already considering returning them all. I can’t believe how awful this formula is turning out to be. It’s a nightmare for dry lips!
Faint For Fuchsia is an incredibly bright hot fuchsia pink that looks almost neon on the lips. It’s pretty similar to MAC Happy Go Lucky lipstick except it’s a bit darker, warmer and brighter. The color is absolutely stunning against my complexion but the formula leaves so much to be desired.
Faint For Fuchsia applies smoothly and opaque without any tugging but it doesn’t go on evenly. It looked pretty patchy with just one layer but evened out a bit as I applied more. Unfortunately, the formula isn’t too buildable though. It began to clump into small bits and look flaky the more I slathered it on. You certainly don’t want to be without a mirror when applying this lipstick! Faint For Fuchsia clings to every dry patch and settles into lip lines considerably upon application. It also suffers from the same dry, powdery finish as Ravishing Rose. Which is too bad since the formula is actually quite creamy and doesn’t feel drying at all on the lips. Faint For Fuchsia lasts for around 3-4 hours before beginning to fade into a patchy, flaky stain that couldn’t look more gross. Applying a bit of balm and a lip liner underneath seemed to help greatly but Faint For Fuchsia looks so bad on its own I just can’t recommend it at all. It may work well for ladies with smoother, flake free lips. But if your lips are dry like mine? Run, honey! Far, far away!
Sad that the formula isnt great
color looks great though

The formula definitely could have been better. The color was oh so perfect!
The darker colors are much better; I promise! The two you posted about, I saw swatches prior to purchasing any and I crossed those off my list immediately. In a matte form, those colors have never worked for my skin tone. The others are great: silent in scarlet, the coral, divine wine, and mesmerizing magenta.
I’m glad it’s not just me! I slipped on Siren in Scarlet once and it was MUCH better. Like a totally different formula lol. Now I’m itching to get my hands on Divine Wine!
