Too Faced Melted Nude Lipstick Review

There isn’t a lot words in the beauty world that makes me nervous but nude is definitely one of them. When you have a deeper complexion, “nude” usually translates into pale, chalky or ashy. That’s why I was a little skeptical about the Too Faced Melted Nude Lipstick making an appearance in the holiday Melted Kisses Set.

The first thing that came to mind was, “How WOC friendly will this be?” Turns out the Too Faced Melted Nude lipstick is very kind to us on the deeper end of the spectrum. It’s a really warm peachy-beige with a sweet candy scent and satin finish. The color reminds me a lot of MAC’s Cozy Up lipstick which is one of my favorite nudes. Both shades have strong peachy tones really flatter my brown skin and doesn’t make my lips look chalky.

The formula is rather easy to wear too. Melted Nude applies smoothly and evenly with a lightweight, creamy formula and full coverage in a single swipe. Most nude lipsticks can be a pain on my imperfect lips but Melted Nude plays rather nicely. The formula doesn’t dry out my lips and the color doesn’t emphasize flakes or settle into my lip lines until around 4 hours as its fading away. I didn’t experience too much bleeding or feathering either but I still recommend using a lip liner with Melted Nude. It’s just one of those really opaque nudes that could use a little extra definition to look its best. Overall, I think the Too Faced Melted Nude lipstick is a pretty and easy to wear nude lip for brown skin. The next time you hit Sephora I recommend swatching it to see how you like it!

  1. Hey Fancie, I have that problem with most nudes, so I definitely know what you’re talking about! I’m glad it worked out fine! It indeed doesn’t look chalky on you!

Me too! Nudes can be a little tricky so I’m glad Too Faced is making a bit easier for us. Hopefully we’ll start seeing more nudes like this soon
