CoverGirl Lava Glow Lip Lava Gloss Review

Yes, I am still over here getting my glitter on with these CoverGirl Lip Lava glosses! The holidays are officially over but these festive looking lippies are still giving me a bit of life these days. Especially with all this freezing weather. I could use a little sparkle to brighten up my day!

Lava Glow is one of the more sheer shades of the bunch but it still adds a nice amount of sparkle to any look without being overpowering. Or glitter bomb-y. It’s a warm yellow gold with lots of fine golden shimmer and a sweet, candy scent. It’s the kind of gloss you can pair with a nude lipstick (like Milani’s Nude Creme) to take it to the next level and add a soft, feminine sheen.

Lava Glow applies smoothly and evenly with a slightly thick, tacky texture that doesn’t feel sticky or heavy. It’s actually quite comfortable to wear! The formula is lightly moisturizing and doesn’t cling to the lips too much so it didn’t emphasize flakes or settle into lines. I also didn’t experience any bleeding or feathering.

Lava Glow was a complete treat to wear for the 2-3 hours it lasted on me. Since it’s not as glittery as Look It’s Lava! or Ooh La Lava (such cute names!) it didn’t leave my lips looking like a disco ball either. Just smooth and soft with a subtle golden sparkle. I really dig it. And I think you will too! If you’re into shimmery golden glosses or you missed out on those nice ones MAC released last year then Lava Glow is well worth the try.

  1. Oh wow, this is so much more pigmented than I had imagined it’d be! Most “gold” glosses I’ve seen are so sheer that they barely have a tint, it’s really just the shimmer. This one actually does! Very surprising 🙂
