Yves Saint Laurent #12 Forbidden Burgundy Rouge Voluptè Lipstick Review
These days drugstore makeup is just as good (sometimes even better) than the expensive stuff. But I have to be honest. There’s just something about pulling a high end lipstick out of your makeup bag that makes you feel all Beyonce-ish. “Hold on, girl, while I touch up this fabulous lipstick.”
That’s how I feel every time I pull out my favorite high end lipstick, the Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte. The luxuriously chic gold tube just does something to me! One of the most beloved shades in my collection is #12 Forbidden Burgundy. It’s a warm burgundy with slight red undertones and strong grape scent that reminds me of wine. Told you this lipstick is fabulous!
Forbidden Burgundy feels like pure luxury from beginning to end! It applies smoothly and evenly with a thin, lightweight texture that’s a little slippery but still very easy to apply. The formula glides across the lips effortlessly providing full coverage in a single swipe while feeling great on the lips. Not drying at all!
However, thanks to the juicy formula, Forbidden Burgundy is a little messy and it doesn’t last for too long. I didn’t experience any settling and the color didn’t emphasize flakes at all but it does tend to bleed a bit. I definitely recommend a lip liner! Forbidden Burgundy seems to last just 3-4 hours but it leaves the most intense stain that’ll certainly last you all day. So you honestly won’t have to worry about touch ups much at all. But the packaging is so gorgeous you’ll definitely want to!
