MAC Coupe D’Chic Iridescent Powder Swatches & First Impressions
Anyone else dying to waltz in a pair of glass slippers right now? The MAC Cinderella Collection dropped online last week and I just couldn’t wait to get my hands on the Coupe D’Chic Iridescent Pressed Powder. Finally, MAC has made a limited edition compact suitable for WOC!
There’s been a handful of beautiful compact blushes and Beauty Powders released recently but they’ve all been too pale for my tastes. So I was all too pleased to see that the Cinderella collection didn’t quite turn out like Maleficent. Especially since the packaging turned out to be so much better! It’s a soft baby blue with a lavender iridescent sheen that’s just beautiful in person. I think I’m going to leave it on my vanity for a while. 🙂
Inside the compact lies the lovely Coupe D’Chic Iridescent Powder. In the pan it appears as a peachy pink with flecks of gold glitter. But swatched and applied it pulls more gold. It’s absolutely stunning applied as a highlight but it’s definitely not for the faint of heart. Nor is it an everyday kind of highlight. Unless you’re a full on glam diva. Then you really need this!
Coupe D’Chic has a prominent golden glow that’s loaded with glitter. You’ll really want to use a light hand and really buff it in to tone it down a bit. I applied way too much the first time around but Coupe D’Chic gave the most stunning “wet” glow I’ve ever seen. It would be killer for a night out! It’s the kind of powder you’d reach for when you’re trying to achieve that Real Housewives of Atlanta glow. I really like it!
If you didn’t get a chance to snag it online I suggest waking up a little early to hit the stores and counters. The Cinderella Collection will be available at select MAC stores, Nordstrom and Macy’s. I recommend calling your local store/counter beforehand for availability.
Will you be grabbing anything from the MAC Cinderella Collection?
That is absolutely beautiful…
It’s great to see a quality highlighter for women of color!
Oh wow, I can see what you mean by using a light hand or you could look like a disco ball. I think it would be kind of cool to see this on your face, first wearing it lightly, then going for the full Housewives effect 🙂
I’m sooooo happy that I saw this swatch on a WOC! I initially didn’t order anything from this collection because everything is so light and sheer, but then I saw this post…yes maam! And it just so happened that Cinderella was restocked on MAC’s website a few minutes ago so I purchased it! I’m excited! If you need a back GO NOW and use MACEXP for 2nd day shipping!
