Maybelline Rebellious Raspberry Color Elixir Review
I haven’t tried a Maybelline Color Elixir in a looong time but I’ve always liked the formula. I haven’t been all that crazy about the new, sheerer limited edition ones though. All of the permanent shades I’ve tried so far have been pretty pigmented. And you know me. I have a thing for pigmented glosses!
That’s why I immediately went back to CVS after seeing Temptalia’s review on the Rebellious Raspberry Color Elixir from the limited edition spring Rebel Bloom Collection. It looked so bright, pigmented and pretty. Perfect for spring!
Rebellious Raspberry is a bright pinky-coral with a soft, juicy sheen and powdery floral scent. It sports the same plush, gel-like formula that’s lightly moisturizing and feels oh so cushion-y on the lips. The formula is slightly thicker than your average gloss but I still find Rebellious Raspberry very comfortable to wear.
Rebellious Raspberry applies smoothly and evenly with semi-opaque that’ll coat your lips with a bright pop of color while still allowing your natural lip color to peek through. It’s pigmented but can be easily be sheered out so it’s quite easy to wear–even for the shy gals. The color does seem a bit milky (settles) but it doesn’t emphasize flakes, bleed or feather much.
Another great thing about Rebellious Raspberry is that it wears pretty well too. It lasts for around 4-5 hours before fading into a light stain. Pretty impressive for under 10 bucks right? If you spot one of the spring Rebel Bloom Collection displays I recommend snapping up Rebellious Raspberry before it’s gone!
