Revlon HD Tourmaline Lip Lacquer Review
It’s not Wednesday but Friday is still a really great day for pink. Hell, everyday is a great day for pink! No matter many lipsticks or glosses I collect I will always find room for a shiny new pink one. Always.
Take the Revlon HD Tourmaline Lip Lacquer for instance. After randomly stumbling across my old HD Lip Lacquer haul I decided to give HD Garnet a try and it turned out to be pretty great. Immediately I thought, “Make room for this and the Tourmaline in your organizer!” It was hard. But hunny, I made room!
HD Tourmaline is pretty much everything I wanted L.A. Girl’s Tease Glazed Lip Paint to be. It’s a cool bright hot pink with silver shimmer and sweet candy scent that’s not too hard to work with. Is it perfect? Not exactly. Still works pretty nicely though!
HD Tourmaline doesn’t go on as smoothly as HD Garnet but it still applies rather well with a slightly thick, tacky texture and semi opaque coverage. I know everyone isn’t a fan of thick glosses but the HD Lip Lacquers are quite comfortable to wear. HD Tourmaline isn’t exactly moisturizing but it feels nice on the lips. It wears for around 2-4 hours without feeling heavy, sticky or drying.
The color does require a little elbow work though. There’s some light settling and you’ll definitely want to exfoliate as it kinda puts flakes on blast. Of course, there’s the inevitable slight bleeding and feathering you get with more pigmented glosses, too. However, it wasn’t too hard to control. A light layer or lip primer or filling in my lips with lip liner first seemed to lock the color in place.
I’m still a fan of HD Tourmaline because: 1) It’s pink. 2) It looks gorgeous on! As long as you don’t mind a little maintenance I recommend picking up HD Tourmaline the next time you hit the drugstore aisles.
