Too Faced Melted Jelly Donut Lipstick Review
You know what I’m really thankful for these days? New makeup. Call it cliche but retail therapy seriously does the body good! Just as I’m finally getting over that hell of a wisdom toothache I wake up with a slightly sore throat and a completely stuffy nose. Just great, right?
I’m crazy tired but haven’t quite mastered the art of mouth breathing. My nose is running like Forrest Gump yet totally plugged. And my head? I’m two seconds from throwing it out the window! It’s pounding and sensitive to everything. But you know what’s making everything better? Not the million cups of hot tea. Or all the Vick’s Vapor Rub I bathed in this morning. Not even the NyQuil that knocked me out for a solid 4 hours.
Surprisingly, the Too Faced Melted Jelly Donut Lipstick has been all the medicine I need! I know it’s just a lipstick. But a moment with something as bright as Melted Jelly Donut is just what the doctor prescribed to lift this icky mood of mine.
Melted Jelly Donut is an incredibly bright (think almost neon) warm fuchsia pink with a slight coral undertone and creamy satin finish. The color reminds me a lot of the new MAC Viva Glam Miley Cyrus lipstick. It’s a little brighter and more vibrant but you definitely don’t need both. I happen to be a huge fan of this shade on me, so yeah, I’m holding on to Melted Jelly Donut for dear life!
Melted Jelly Donut applies smoothly and evenly with a lightweight, creamy texture and full coverage in a single swipe. The formula isn’t exactly hydrating but it plays pretty well with dry lips. Melted Jelly Donut didn’t feel drying at all and it didn’t seem to fall into my lip lines much either. The formula is a bit on the emollient (i.e. slippery) side though so it does emphasize flakes a little as well as bleed and feather. I highly recommend using a primer or filling in your lips completely with a lip pencil to lock the color in place.
Once you’ve got this beauty locked in place it’s smooth sailing! Melted Jelly Donut wears comfortably for around 4-6 hours before fading into an intense stain that’ll definitely get you through the day. Whether you’re an avid pink addict or looking to try some of the new Melted shades I think Melted Jelly Donut is a great place to start!
Oh wow, hope you feel better real soon. I caught 3 colds last winter, almost back to back, was totally miserable. But nothing like a bright pink lip to cheer you up! And I love the name –melted jelly donut 🙂
Isn’t the name so cute?! Lol that was one of the main reasons I wanted it. Thank you for your well wishes! I’m still a little ball of germs but I’m feeling MUCH better!
This is one of the 2 melted shades I picked up. Haven’t worn it yet but I’m sooo excited to, looks great on you. Feel better boo!
Omg this one looks soo pretty too! Too Faced is breaking my bank lol xp
I recently wrote review on Melted Fig which is the most beautiful shade. 🙂
