NYX Dahlia High Voltage Lipstick Review
It seems as if spring is finally in full force! We’ve finally been able to shake the cold here in Michigan with some nice, sunny 60 degree days but I’ve still been in a vampy lip mood lately. I guess I’m just weird like that!
In case you’d like to be weird with me, I invite you try the NYX Dahlia High Voltage Lipstick. It’s about $6 at Ulta probably one of the most smokin’ hot vampy lipsticks I’ve ever seen. Dahlia is deep blackened eggplant with a slight red undertone and a creamy satin finish. It pulls almost black but you can definitely see the hint of purple which makes it pretty darn unique. I have quite a few vampy purples in my stash but nothing quite like Dahlia.
If you like your vampy lippies matte then you can probably skip right along ’cause Dahlia sports lots of sheen and a very emollient creamy texture. It glides across the lips like butter with full coverage in a single swipe and a touch of moisture. I didn’t experience any settling but I was a bit worried about the bleeding due to the color and texture. However, Dahlia held up pretty well–around 4-5 hours–without migrating all over my face. Just some very minor bleeding. Of course, using a lip liner (all over) or a primer will help lock things in place.
I’m not sure when I’ll finally step back into some bright pinks, purples or corals but in the meantime NYX Dahlia High Voltage Lipstick is great company!
Gorgeous! <3 Do you have Burlesque, by any chance? Or plan on getting it?
Thank you!
Where did you get those earrings? Super cute…
I believe I got them from Icing or Claire’s. They’re one of those sensitive solution studs
OMG! I love that color on you!! I’ve never seen such a dark purple. It’s so dramatically vampy, and goes so well with your cat eye. This would a be a great look for a night out
Thank you! That’s one thing I’ve been loving about NYX lately. They’ve been creating some pretty cool out of the box colors that you usually don’t see. Especially the vampy shades. I can’t stop wearing them lately lol
