NYX Honey Dew Me Up Serum & Primer Review

NYX Honey Dew Me Up Primer Serum

It’s no secret that I’m a lean mean lipstick junkie machine. But what you probably didn’t know is that I love dewy, glowing skin just as much as I love a bold lip. ‘Cause what goes better with bold lips than a beautiful radiant complexion? Since I’ve pulled my out my poppin’ orange YSL lipstick I’ve been all about the glow lately from beginning to end.

NYX Honey Dew Me Up Primer Serum

My favorite way to glow these days? Adding just a sprinkle of NYX Honey Dew Me Up Primer & Serum to my routine. This stuff is liquid gold! Figuratively and literally. I mean, just look how cool it looks in the bottle with it’s glowing gold gel and glimmering gold flecks. So beautiful! Initially, I only wanted to try Honey Dew Me Up because it looked pretty cool but after seeing the price tag ($17) I had to pump my breaks and do a little research. Turns out, this stuff receives a lot of rave reviews which is completely understandable after trying it.

Honey Dew Me Up has a thin, lightweight gel-like texture that’s very much like honey–just thinner and not as sticky. The formula spreads across the skin like butter and absorbs pretty quickly but because of the spatula like applicator it can get a little messy. There’s a slight sticky feeling as it dries down but the result is just beautiful. Honey Dew Me Up offers a light touch of hydration with lots of radiance and luminosity. Those golden flecks you see? Don’t worry! They barely make it out of the jar and when they do, you’re not left looking like a disco ball. Not even close. Just smooth, hydrated glowing skin.

Technically, NYX markets this as a primer and serum but I think Honey Dew Me Up falls more under the serum category. Surprisingly, it’s filled with tons of natural ingredients (pretty high on the list too) including honey, collagen, glycerin and more to strengthen and nourish skin. It doesn’t really prolong the wear makeup. However, I can still see why NYX recommends using Honey Dew Me Up as a primer. It really smooths out the skin and subtly blurs fine lines while giving my makeup a soft, glowing canvas to paint on.

Either way, I’m very pleased with the NYX Honey Dew Me Up Primer & Serum! It just works for my complicated dry skin and makes the perfect base for a dewy complexion and glowing cheeks.

Oh, wow, what a big difference. It seems to smooth your dry hands and give it nice glow. I can only imagine what it would do for your face. Between this serum, the MAC golden elixir strobe cream, and the Cinderella highlighter, are you getting that Housewives glow yet 😉

Your post and pics on the Housewives totally cracked me up. I mean those ladies were so lit up, they could’ve been beacons guiding ships in the night. They really rocked that look!

Lmao!!! Omg yes!! That’s what caught my attention. They were literally glowing in the dark. I was so amazed lol. I haven’t yet mastered THAT kinda glow but I’m over here trying! Lol thanks for the laugh though. That cracked me up!

  2. A serum and a primer? Now that’s a pretty bold claim! Glad to hear it actually works well! I seldom use glow-enhancing primers because I have combination skin. Usually I end up looking glowy after a few hours anyways 🙂

That doesn’t sound like a bad trait to have lol. I wish my skin would look dewy on its own!
