What’s Your Favorite Mask?

Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask

Before we jump into some pink, I wanted to have a little more beauty talk with ya. This time we’re taking the focus away from makeup for a sec and shifting gears to some skincare talk. I know skincare products aren’t quite as fun as makeup but they can be just as addicting. One of the skincare products I’m most addicted to is exfoliating masks so I’m always switching them up from time to time.

My current fave happens to be the Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask. I received this little sample a looong time ago but it’s lasted me months surprisingly. I don’t use it too often (2-3 times a month) but I’m probably going to rush out and buy the full size when I run out because I just love the formula. For the longest, I was hooked on the amazing and incredibly expensive GlamGlow SuperMud and Tinglexfoliate masks but the Origins Active Charcoal Mask almost gives them a run for their money. While it doesn’t have that tingling effect I’ve grown to love it performs pretty much the same as the GlamGlow masks and makes my skin look just as good. I like to save this baby for when I’m having those small pesky breakouts all over. I leave the mask on for 15 minutes to an hour, wash it off and bam! My skin is silky soft and my breakouts are much less noticeable. They even start to clear up in a couple of days. I’ll probably always love the GlamGlow masks but at just $17 (or $25 if you want the large tube) my wallet loves Origins Active Charcoal Mask a little more.

  1. If these are the same as Glamglow masks I’m going to see if I can grab a sample! I looove the Glamglow masks but they are pretty pricey, so would love a cheaper alternative x

Right now it’s the tonymoly clear skin rice sheet mask that I picked up at sephora not long ago. Elizabeth Arden’s hydrating mask is great too, and can regularly be found at tj maxx for like $5

When my skin was oiler, I loved this Origins charcoal mask – also great for scaring little kids 😉 Now that my skin is dryer, I like the Glamglow Thirsty Mud with coconut oil, but it is dang expensive

LOL I bumped into my mom in the hallway wearing this and it freaked her out too. Idk why masks are so scary looking lol. I love ThirstyMud! You can apply that stuff overnight and not need a moisturizer for days lol. It’s so hydrating! But I agree. Way too pricey for my budget and I haven’t seen it in the little $20 jar yet. I hope they make it in a smaller size soon. It’s the only way I can bring myself to buy GlamGlow lol

Yes, definitely grab a sample! I was surprised how similar the formulas are since Origins is soo much cheaper

Aw snap that’s a steal! I’m gonna check my local TJ Maxx for it. I’ll have to look up that rice mask too. That’s something I’ve never tried before but it sounds really interesting. Thanks for sharing!

  6. I love this one! I I hear you totally about someone seeing you with it on! I was ALWAYS freaked about using it – to the point part of it dried up! I would put off using it! I have one now that I really like Fancie – and it is at Walgreens. It will actually give you a “lifted” sensation, and feels excellent. I just looked yesterday and they still carry the line – ‘Eclo’s – Plant Stem Cells Anti- Aging Clay Renewal Mask. It is pretty amazing actually for an midrange mask. I really like it anyway. http://www.amazon.com/Eclos-Skin-Renewal-Clay-2-5-Ounce/dp/B003JTCYOE

    1. That’s my best shot at getting you to it…. I don’t know how you guys do what you do — since I don’t have my iPhone I can’t do the picture thing either! 🙁 However if there is a dad gum will Fancie, there is a way!!!! Here you go!! It’s a nice light tightening affect that actually lasts for a bit. Good stuff and a nice range of products. I have used a moisturizer and I really liked it, I’m sensitive – combo skin with adult acne and it did NOT break me out. That’s huge.
Anyway hope that is helpful… my little mini haul came today!!! ……

Thank you for sharing this! I’m always in Walgreens and probably walked right past this lol. I’m gonna be on the lookout for it the next time I go. The formula sounds great!

        1. Your welcome! I love it! Like I said I tried the moisturizer and didn’t notice any visible differences – but this mask does tighten for a pretty good while! I love it!!! Glad I could give you something !!!

The reviews seem pretty solid so I’ll be on the lookout for it today!

          2. Hey – have fun!!!

          3. Hey, how was your lunch date??

          4. It was fun! We ate Chinese (our fav) and went to Marshall’s to look for my friend a dress for her daughter’s graduation. We found one and then went on for accessories. Crystal always wants my help. She got the perfect dress… she was/is so excited. I’m happy she’s exited!!! So it was a good day!
