Ahh, another non-matte summer release! Although Milani has whipped up 8 new matte lipsticks, they’ve decided to take a softer, more luminous approach on the cheeks with the new Rose Blushes for summer. There’s 3 shimmering shades that are all limited edition and currently popping up at CVS, Walgreens and more.

At first glance, they look a lot like the permanent Rose Blushes but this round is much more muted and some of the shades run a little warmer/cooler than the originals. Plus, all 3 shades contain a hint of fine shimmer while the permanent lineup is all matte.

I know everyone isn’t a fan of the Milani Rose Blushes because they’re a bit powdery and chalky (especially during swatching) but I happen to be a big fan of the formula. It just works well on my dry skin and I love how natural they look once applied. So of course I snapped up all 3 of these limited edition beauties. I couldn’t resist!

There’s American Beauty Rose (bottom left), a deep warm rosy pink with fine iridescent shimmer; Awakening Rose (center), a cool beige pink with fine silver shimmer; and Blossomtime Rose (bottom right), a warm pinky coral with fine golden shimmer. I haven’t tried them on yet but after swatching them it’s already hard to pick a favorite. This round of Rose Blushes turned out to be a beautiful bouquet! I was immediately drawn to Awakening Rose because it looks like a wonderful neutral everyday blush but after seeing the strong golden sheen in Blossomtime Rose once the light hits it I just can’t decided which one to try first. Seems like Milani did a bang job with these!
