TGIF! I couldn’t be any happier that today is Friday! I still have to go to work in the morning but Friday always gives off such great vibes. I was a little tired when I first rolled out of bed but I’ve been in a pretty great mood all day. I think it’s because I started off playing in some really great makeup today and ended up creating a look I loved. It’s hard not to feel good when your makeup is on point, right?

Bobbi Brown Bronze Glow High Light Powder, Bobbi Brown Pink Lilac Brightening Lip Gloss, NARS Michiyo Audacious Lipstick, Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat Blur Primer, Bobbi Brown Pale Pink Blush

As usual, I started off with my Make Up For Ever Pro Finish Powder and NARS Amande Radiant Creamy Concealer because they give me the most flawless complexion. Then I added all the bells and whistles to dress up the basics and get all Fancie. The stars of the show were:

This was my first time trying my Bobbi Brown goodies and I’m pretty impressed so far. I’ve been sitting on Bronze Glow for forever which is nuts because it’s a beautiful highlighting powder and I was so excited back when I first ordered it. But now that I’ve finally cracked that baby open I’m all for it! I’m also a big fan of Pale Pink blush which I honestly didn’t think it was going to work for me at all. See, when you’re nice and chocolate-y, anything with “pale” in the name is completely out of bounds. I mean, I was giving Bobbi some serious side eye when I received it in my welcome kit because it looked too pale for me. However, the color shows up just fine and it’s actually quite flattering. Color me shocked! The Brightening Lip Gloss was pretty good, too. It reminded me a little of MAC Lipglass but a little more lightweight and not as sticky or tacky.

Along with my Bobbi goodies, I’m also becoming quite a big fan of the Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat Blur Primer. This stuff is the bomb! I haven’t really been having issues with my makeup fading but I have been struggling with my pesky fine lines now that I’m sporting makeup for 8+ hours a day. By the time I get home, my concealer has started to lightly creep into my dry under eye lines and my foundation has started creasing around my laugh lines. I haven’t really experienced either of those problems since I’ve been using this baby. It’s still pretty early but I think this baby is a keeper!

  1. What a pretty girl!!! I know that your using a setting spray girl! And are you setting your concealer? Girl, I have to! And if your having issues, maybe it’s your primer? Idk but since I’ve been trying out the MUFE primer my makeup is like totally set for hours. I’m super (well not super) but oily — and this stuff just works. I have smash box but I got a sample of a new HD Primer and I love it. I tried to find it @ Sephora and could not! I wanted it so badly. Oh well. Girl you did not tell me that you used to work @ Sephora! DISH!!!! I caught that when I was looking at your Facebook page….. and btw I just love those Mabelline fit me concealers! I know that you have some… maybe try those…

    1. Why thank you! I do set my concealer but I don’t think I was using enough eye cream. I’m struggling a little less now that I’m moisturizing a little more. I really want to try one of those MUFE primers though! I hear they’re great but I don’t know whether to get the peachy one or the regular one. Decisions, decisions. Working at Sephora was just okay. The discount was a nice perk but the pay isn’t all that great and they micromanage you. I’ve come to the conclusion that I just don’t have the personality for that lol. It’s great for someone who doesn’t mind a little structure though. I actually have the Maybelline Fit Me line LOL. I swore by the concealer when I first started wearing makeup. I haven’t worn it in a while though. I have dig it up!

    2. Girl forgive me, it totally sounded like I was a know it all…. and I didn’t mean to sound like that. After I wrote it I thought how it sounded! I know you know a whole hellofa lot about this deal than I do! So you like the Nars better than the Fit Me? And yes, that primer is excellent. It is the HD one. I could not find it at Sephora and that is where I got the sample. The peach would totally be beautiful on your complexion…. Sephora doesn’t sound like too much fun… I don’t like being micromanaged, I’m having some issues with a coworker right now, with those same sort of things…. she acts like she’s my boss.. and it really gets on my nerves. I’m trying to be patient but I’m afraid she’s going to catch me in a not so patient mood and I’m going to snap. I talked to my boss about her already – so she’s aware of the situation. I guess the lady does this to everyone…. she’s one of these nasty perfectionistic people…. I get that but I hate it in reverse!!!! Isn’t that funny when your own defects get turned on you! It’s like God having a little fun with you. And by the way you’ve been rocking it lately- I’m so jealous of your make up collection! I haven’t gotten anything new in a while now. Oh – and I love the MAC mascara too – the Zoom lash. I think it will be my new staple. The Chanel is just a bit too expensive for everyday. I think my next purchase will be a Urban decay lipstick or a Nars one – a berry for fall. Karen@ MBB reviewed some really pretty ones just a bit ago. I think it was Nars “Janet”. Beautiful. Boy it’s gong to hurt to pay that much for a lipstick!!! I don’t see how they do it for Tom Ford!

      1. Oh no, I didn’t take it that way! Lol trust me when I say I look for all the help I can get with my under eyes. They are insanely dry but it’s like it’s gotten worse lately. Ahh beauty problems! Always feel free to make suggestions because I certainly don’t know it all either lol. I’m still learning like you! And omg I have a coworker like that too! The craziest thing is she doesn’t even work at my counter yet somehow she is always hovering around providing unsolicited help. Excuse my language, but the bitch is crazy! I know exactly what you mean about keeping your distance because I’m sure to do the same. Especially when I’m not in the best of moods. Don’t be jealous lol. I actually have too much makeup to the point where I seriously need to stop buying it. Especially since I’ll be receiving a ton of free Bobbi stuff from work. It’s just so hard because I love makeup, there’s always something new and makeup is the least time consuming thing to shop for lol. I have to revamp my wardrobe though so it’s time to seriously cut back! Those NARS lipsticks are pricey but I have to admit, they’re the bomb! I have 2 and they’re so easy on the lips. I really want to try Tom Ford but I still can’t stomach dropping $50 on one lipstick. I’m twitching at just the thought of it lol

        1. I knew I wasn’t writing NARS right!!! LOL. Hey the coworker thing is horrible! I know I’m going to snap one of these days. An it’s not going to be pretty! This lady it off the chain girl. She asks me everyday “did you make the coffee?” Like I’m too stupid to remember or know how? She checks every little thing that I do — and one of these days, I’m just not going to be all sweet and polite and I’m going to let her have it. I have been being good – but she works behind me this next week too. I don’t know how long I can last. I’m so used to working with my boss who is so relaxed. I’ll get over it. LOL – I hear you about the wardrobe, just switch up and get you some clothes – start wandering into the clothing area on your breaks. Your so little I would think that buying clothes would be fun! Glad I did not sound like a know it all – Lordy I sure don’t want to sound like that, ever. After I wrote that I remembered that your dry too – and I wasn’t sure that people with dry skin set their concealer. I just love that Fit Me. I have two of them. OH that reminds me I have to wash my brushes today…. oh that’s a job I don’t like so much. It’s not bad, but it’s not my favorite thing…. I like the end result – but I need new brushes bad. They’re falling apart. I wish I lived near a Target, I’d get in on some of those Sonja ones. I don’t like the size of the real techniques…. they’re too small.

Wow, check out that glow!! I can’t believe you weren’t all over that Bobbi Brown highlight powder from the start!. It looks like molten bronze, it’s-hurting- my- eyes bright, a serious contender for the atlanta housewives look!

    1. The funniest part is that I made the BIGGEST freaking deal about it when it first came out lol. I don’t know how it ended up slipping under my radar. I’ve been wearing it nonstop lately. The glow is insane!
