Lip Library: Milani Amore Matte Lip Cremes
You know what they say, “Good things come to those who wait.” You’ve asked for lip swatches of the new limited edition Milani Amore Matte Lip Cremes and I’m finally delivering along with a quick overview of the entire line. Woohoo! As you can imagine, I’ve been extremely busy but I’ve been working through these babies and I’m quite pleased with the liquid lipsticks Milani whipped up. They’re reaaaally nice!
For starters, they smell like yummy vanilla cake batter and they apply very easily. All 8 shades are intensely pigmented with full coverage in a single swipe. Most of the shades apply evenly but I had a little bit of trouble with the darkest shade of the bunch, Flirt. It applies a bit patchy and the color can be difficult to even it out without using a lip liner or over applying.
Minus Flirt’s minor slip up, I find the Milani Amore Matte Lip Cremes to be quite enjoyable and an excellent alternative to higher end liquid lipsticks like Kat Von D and Anastasia Beverly Hills. I actually found them to be quite comparable to the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks as they glide on smoothly with a slightly thick creamy texture and dry down within a minute or two to an ultra matte finish that lasts around 7-8 hours before showing signs of fading. They even have the same tight, slightly uncomfortable feeling during dry down as the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks.
I hate that the Amore Lip Cremes are limited edition because I knew they would fly off the shelves with just 2 shades to each store and sell like hotcakes online. However, it seems that Milani is making them a little less limited because I recently spotted a display at my local CVS and they were supposed to be a Walgreens exclusive. Don’t fret if you haven’t spotted them in your area just yet. The store release was originally slated for September so your local CVS or Walgreens may not have received their display yet. Keep the faith!

Honestly, it must just be to make sure your lips are moisturized lol. I did a few of these back to back (including Adore) and all I did was wipe in between with a cotton ball soaked with micellar water, blot and apply. The color is tricky but it went on pretty easily

Oh flirt is really pretty – but I have two that are really close. It’s out of stock anyways đ I’m glad I checked them out – thanks for the review – it really helps. I keep checking @ CVS to see if they get them, no luck yet. I’m liking the Sephora one that I got though, it’s a bit dark. No more makeup for me for awhile till I get some things taken care of — boo. I really hope you find them soon! That’s why I hated that Milani made these limited edition. I usually always struggle to find their limited edition products and it drives me crazy
Yes, it makes NO Sense! We probably won’t get them. I checked at K-Mart again yesterday – and no luck. Everyone of them are beautiful. Thats just stupid that they are limited edition.
I’ve seen several pictures of “flirt” and it always seemed a little darker or purplish…guess I’ll pass on these, I was set on getting “flirt”
Don’t let the pictures fool you! Flirt is definitely more vampy in person and it looks damn good on too. I wore it to work yesterday and no one could believe I was wearing a $7 liquid lipstick. Just be sure to line in your lips completely with a matching vampy liner to help the color look more even
