My Everyday Essentials
Have you ever really sat and wondered just how many beauty products you use everyday? It never crossed my mind to tally them up until I saw one of those nifty beauty challenges on Instagram and decided to go for it. Turns out, I use a lot of stuff! From skincare to makeup, I have a complete routine that requires a special arsenal of products to get me through the day.
Let’s start off with the skincare, shall we? My skincare routine is pretty solid at the moment so while I’ve been trying (and buying) some new goodies there’s a few that I reach for on a daily basis. My current faves are:
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream This eye and face cream duo is lightweight, moisturizing and absorbs rather quickly so I love using it before applying my makeup for a smooth, plump base. They’ve been a staple in my routine for months now because I just love how soft and supple it makes my skin feels. Neutrogena really knocked this line out of the park!
Nivea A Kiss of Moisture Essential Lip Care Dry lips are a pain in the butt when you’re a lipstick junkie but this balm makes my life so much easier! It’s a little on the thick side but it’s super hydrating and feels nice and cushiony. Not to mention, it helps my favorite matte lipsticks go on smoothly without a flake in sight.
Chanel Lotion Douceur Gentle Hydrating Toner Wearing a full face of makeup on a regular basis can do some funky things to your skin if you don’t get a good, thorough cleanse and that’s exactly what I get using this toner. Some cleansers don’t always remove every little trace of dirt, oil and makeup throughout the day so I use this trusty stuff to make sure I’m all clean. I also like that it provides some protection from environmental damage, too.
Bobbi Brown Instant Long-Wear Makeup Remover Talk about cleansing made easy! This stuff practically melts off my foundation, concealer and eye makeup like nobody’s business. It’s also very gentle so it doesn’t irritate or dry out my skin. It makes my nighttime routine that much simpler.
Murad Essential-C Cleanser This is actually a new product to my stash but I’ve really been digging it! This refreshing cleanser has a light citrus scent and gently cleanses my skin without leaving it feeling dry or tight. I love using it in the morning as a quick wake-me-up.
Lancome Bi-Facil Double Action Eye Makeup Remover This makeup remover is the bomb too! It’s so gentle and conditioning that you wouldn’t even think your waterproof eye makeup would just melt off like butter. I love that it leaves my thirsty under eye area feeling soft and supple afterwards.
Bobbi Brown Extra Eye Repair Cream I took a sample of this stuff home over a month ago and haven’t stopped using it since. This ultra rich, hydrating eye cream really quenches my thirsty under eye area and gives me a smooth base for corrector and concealer. I like to use this stuff at night or on days when I need a little extra moisture.
Bobbi Brown Golden Nude CC Cream It took me a while to hop on the BB and CC Cream bandwagon but leave it to Bobbi to turn me into a believer. This CC Cream is the bomb! It evens my complexion with the smallest amount while also adding moisture and a gorgeous dewy glow. I wear it alone or under my powder foundation to color correct and make my skin look flawless.
Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara I think Bobbi’s line overall is underrated but I really think her mascaras don’t get enough love. The Smokey Eye Mascara is only mascara I’ve come across that I can pile on without it looking clumpy or crossing into spider leg territory. I’m still a falsies fanatic but I love using the Smokey Eye Mascara on my bottom lashes to really make my eyes pop.
Bobbi Brown Golden Orange Sheer Finish Pressed Powder For years I’ve been using Ben Nye Banana Powder to set my concealer but I haven’t touched it since I’ve discovered this beauty. It’s a way better option for deeper complexions because it doesn’t look chalky or ashy if you get a little heavy handed like Banana Powder can. Golden Orange is slowly creeping into holy grail status.
Anastasia Ebony Dipbrow Pomade I had to bring my precious Dipbrow back out because it’s just so darn easy to use and it lasts forever. Even if I bust a quick sweat at work, I know this stuff is gonna hold up and keep my brows on fleek all day. Plus, it’s so easy to use it takes me no time to fill in my bare brows in the morning.
Make Up For Ever Pro Finish Powder Foundation This powder is holy grail status so it’s no surprise that it’s still part of my everyday routine. The Pro Finish powder blends like a dream and offers great coverage with little effort. It’s my go to foundation for work because it’s quick and easy to apply, looks super natural and lasts me all day. I’m actually really close to polishing it off!
Yves Saint Laurent Eyeliner Effet Faux Clis Can you believe I’ve been using this cream eyeliner for years? The quality is superb and it’s the perfect product for creating a crisp, flawless cat eye. I love that it’s super intense and sports a matte finish that’s modern yet edgy. Not to mention, it holds up all day on my watery eyes without smudging, flaking or fading throughout the day.
NARS Amande Radiant Creamy Concealer This concealer has been holy grail status for years because it’s smooth and creamy with great coverage and a natural finish. I love Radiant Creamy Concealer because it lifts and brightens my eyes while still looking natural — not highlighted. It’s my all time favorite concealer!
