Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas loves! I hope all of you are enjoying the holiday just as much as I am this year. For some reason, it’s still unseasonably warm here in Michigan (around 50º) and I’ve been showering myself with presents all month. Plus, my family is all together today sharing lots of food, laughs and love. And, of course, more gifts!
My mom bought me a few things for Christmas including a big, fluffy sweater, new flats for work, a super chic wine glass and flask, a makeup bag, Juicy Couture oversized keychain, my favorite coffee and 2 bottles of wine. I must be getting old because I couldn’t be happier LOL! These were all things I intended to buy on my own (once I stopped buying makeup) so I’m grateful my mom picked up the slack for me.
My brother (such the perfect angel) gifted me a $50 Sephora gift card which is ironic because I’ve literally been makeup shopping every week for a month straight. So now I’m kinda stumped on what to use it on but I know I’ll think of something very soon!
Like most of you, I also treated myself this year to some personal Christmas gifts. I’ve been pretty responsible all year plus I work really hard so I figured this holiday season was the perfect time to treat myself to some goodies I’ve had my eye on all year. Here’s what I gifted myself this year for Christmas:
NARS Fantascene Despair Blush Palette This blush palette caught my eye the second I saw the promo pictures. It includes 3 blushes and a shimmering highlighter to color and sculpt cheeks for the holidays. The shades seem to work very well for WOC and they felt so buttery when I swatched them so I’m dying to pop this baby on my cheeks.
Urban Decay Vice4 Eyeshadow Palette Vice4 was actually a last minute buy since it recently went on sale for $39 but I don’t regret a thing! It’s a really playful palette that’s bold and colorful–perfect for the holidays. I didn’t really need another eyeshadow palette after recently picking up Stardust, Tartelette, Lorac Mega Pro Palette 2 and Gwen Stefani palettes but I just couldn’t leave it in the store after swatching it. Especially not for half off!
MAC Pearl Sunshine Beauty Powder I can’t resist a pretty highlighter so when I spotted this beauty in the new limited edition MAC Faerie Whispers Collection I had to have it. Pearl Sunshine is a soft shimmering rose gold that looks like it’ll really pop on brown skin. It’s been a while since I’ve indulged in a MAC collection so I had to gift myself this beauty for old times sake.
MAC Cheek Pollen Blush Shimmery peachy blushes are my fave for everyday looks so I decided to pop Cheek Pollen in my cart too. I know I’ve been trying to break out of my natural blushes a bit but you can never have too many neutral blushes right? A girl’s gotta have options!
Bare Minerals Lovely Lips Unlocked Lip Gloss Set I also picked up a 10 piece lip gloss set to split and gift to my BFFs. I’ve tried the Marvelous Moxie and Buttercream glosses at work and really liked them so I decided to grab the set so my girls can try them too. Being the makeup junkie I am, I just had to pick out the shades I really liked first though LOL. The shades included: Tantalizing Honey, Cha-Ching Cherry, Punchy Melon and Daredevil.

I don’t have anyone to give beauty gifts to, really. I gave some flavored Lip Smackers to a friend’s daughter and a sterling silver & crystal butterfly necklace. I received lots of lovely gifts, including lots of makeup, some clothes, a couple fragrances and some jewelry. I got a few books as well.

I ended up spending my gift card tonight on the Tartelette in Bloom Palette, Sephora gel concealer and Peter Thomas Roth foaming cleanser. I’m already anxious to try them all lol. I snagged that Vice 4 Palette as well. When I received the email I said Merry Christmas to me. I had a 20% off coupon as well as points to redeem so I got it for $18. Sure beats that $60. I was torn between Vice 4 and Lorac Mega Pro 2.Vice one, I actually prefer the Mega pro palette from last year, but can’t find it without people wanting an arm and a leg.
Well you really can’t beat $18!! I loved the first Mega Pro Palette and I’m still kicking myself for not getting it when it released. I’m glad I got my hands on the new one though. I actually like it a lot. There’s a lot of nice colors
