Best of 2015: High End Lipsticks

Best of 2015 High End Lipstick: Chanel 94 Exatique Rouge Allure Lipstick, Urban Decay 1993 Matte Revolution Lipstick, MAC Matte Royal Lipstick, Estee Lauder 430 Extrovert Pure Color Envy Matte Lipstick, Yves Saint Laurent 19 Le Fuchsia Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick, Kat Von D Poe Studded Kiss Lipstick, MAC Stone Lipstick, NARS Fanny Lipstick

Nothing ties together a look like a good lipstick! That’s why I’ve always been so lipstick obsessed because they can really transform a look. Last year, we saw a lot of new lipstick releases–some limited edition and some permanent. Of course, I’ve tried a ton of them over the course of 2015 but there were a handful that I almost had to surgically remove from my makeup bag because I just couldn’t stop wearing them after the testing phase was over.

Here’s a roundup of my favorite high end lipsticks of 2015:

Chanel 94 Extatique Rouge Allure Lipstick I brought in 2015 shimmering in pink with my Chanel Extatique Rouge Allure Lipstick. It’s a cool hot pink with a hint of silver shimmer that’s girly and flirty. Extatique was one of my favorite lipsticks in the late winter/early spring because it brightened my cold days with a little pink.

Urban Decay 1993 Matte Revolution Lipstick Nude lips can be super fussy but 1993 is a breeze. There’s no lip liner required as the color suits my complexion perfectly without looking chalky or pale. 1993 is a warm peachy brown that’s perfect for my everyday and “no makeup” looks.

MAC Matte Royal Lipstick I’ve grown to love nude lips as I get older but every now and then I have to shake the boring lips and go bold. One of my favorite bold lips last year was Matte Royal. It’s a cool royal blue with a tinge of purple that’s surprisingly wearable. I loved how Matte Royal popped on my brown skin when paired with a simple look like winged eyeliner and a heavy contour.

Estee Lauder 430 Extrovert Pure Color Envy Matte Sculpting Lipstick Extrovert definitely isn’t the best vampy lipstick in the world but it’s certainly one of the most flattering I’ve ever tried. Extrovert is a blackened eggplant that gives me classic vampy pinup vibes every time I wear it. Plus a ton of compliments, too!

Yves Saint Laurent 19 Le Fuchsia Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick Usually high end brands stick to nudes and typical pinks but Yves Saint Laurent thought outside of the box with their popping Le Fuchsia Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick. And I definitely thank them for it! Le Fuchsia is a charmingly bright magenta that’s the perfect bold lip fix for any pink junkies.

Kat Von D Poe Studded Kiss Lipstick I guess 2015 was the year of blue lips because Poe was love at first site the moment I slipped it on. It’s a blackened navy with some serious multi-colored glitter that’s makes my lips look like a night sky in a Sci-Fi movie. Poe is like Matte Royal’s vampy cousin on steroids. I live for it!

MAC Stone Lipstick Who says nude lips have to be boring? I’ve been gravitating more and more towards nudes these days because they’ve become easier and much edgier to wear. One of my top favorite nudes of 2015 was MAC’s Stone. It’s a muted greyed taupe that’s nothing like any other nude in my collection. I’ll probably still be rocking it in 2016!

NARS Fanny Audacious Lipstick Bright pinks always get me going but during the fall and winter I like to switch gears to darker, edgier pinks like Fanny. It’s a rich berry pink that I’ve been addicted to all fall and winter. Fanny is another lipstick that’ll definitely be sneaking its way into 2016.

4 Thoughts to “Best of 2015: High End Lipsticks”

  1. I love my MAC Stone lipstick and got one for my daughter for her birthday.

    1. Aww you’re such a great mother. I know your daughter is loving it too!

  2. Katherine T.

Wow, it’s awesome you can rock such a great range of colors. My surprise hit of the year was Maybelline Nude Nuance, the perfect peachy brown on me. It goes really well with peachy blush and blue or green shadow.

    1. You aren’t the only one. I haven’t tried Lolita yet either lol. I was hoping to finally try it when she released the mini Lolita duo for holiday but it sold out so quickly. I’m going to end up grabbing it one of these days though. I haven’t seen it look bad on anyone yet!
