Anastasia Beverly Hills Riviera Illuminator Review

Anastasia Beverly Hills Riviera Illuminator

If you’ve managed to steer clear of Anastasia Beverly Hills then I commend you because this woman and her makeup loving daughter are out to get all of our coins this year. The brow queen has recently expanded her line to include eyeshadows, lipsticks, glosses and more that are turning out to be rather awesome. Especially the highlighters. Just when I was starting to think Anastasia Beverly Hills was just a brow brand she flipped the script and turned almost every makeup junkie in the world into a highlighter fan with her new line of Illuminators.

The Illuminators launched a while back but it took me a minute to bite despite the massive cult following because I wasn’t sure if they were just hype or some seriously good highlighters. Then Anastasia Beverly Hills threw a pretty decent Cyber Monday sale where you could score a free A23 Brush with every purchase of an Illuminator. So I finally caved.

I’m really glad I did too because I quickly discovered that the Anastasia Beverly Hills Illuminators weren’t just all hype. These babies will really have you glowing! I ended up falling in love with Riviera the second I swatched it. It’s a neutral rose gold with a crap ton of fine rose gold shimmer that dances in the light and a cascading tile imprint that lasts and lasts–no matter how much you use it. Riviera is seriously gorgeous from start to finish!

Highlighters are rarely a “one size fits all” kinda situation but Riviera Illuminator is one of the few that’s actually suitable for all skintones. From fair to deep, Riviera is effortlessly gorgeous because it doesn’t lean too cool or too warm and it doesn’t have a strong base color either. Instead, Riviera just leaves a stunning glow that’s easily sheered out or built up for a killer sheen that can be seen from the moon.

The formula is quite a treat too. Riviera is finely milled with a soft, buttery texture that applies and blends well without being powdery or coming off too metallic or glittery. I do recommend using a light hand though if you want more a lit from within kind of glow because the slightest swirl of your brush is going to leave you glowing for days. I think that’s why the Riviera and the rest of the Illuminator gang have become so popular because a little goes a very long way and the formula is so easy to work with. Especially if you live for a killer highlight that dances every time the light hits it.

Everything that glitters on Instagram doesn’t turn out to be gold but in the case of Anastasia Beverly Hills Riviera Illuminator I think I hit the jackpot. The formula is silky and blendable, the color is incredibly flattering on all complexions and Riviera holds up well lasting for over 8 hours before showing slight signs of fading on my dry skin. I definitely think the Riviera Illuminator deserves its cult following!
