Anastasia Beverly Hills Venom Lip Gloss Review

Anastasia Beverly Hills Venom Lip Gloss

Anastasia Beverly Hills has made her claim to fame as the queen of brows but she isn’t stopping there. Nope! Since the creation of her brow line years ago, she has managed to expand her brand to include eyeshadow, contour kits and some amazing lippies too. Last year, Anastasia added a collection of liquid lipsticks and glosses to her line and they’ve been a huge hit ever since garnering a serious cult following. For good reason, too. My goodness they are amazing!

Unfortunately, they were a Macy’s exclusive for an entire year so it was tricky and a bit frustrating to have to trek to my nearest Macy’s Impulse department (which was an hour away) just to swatch her lippies up close before purchasing. Of course, I eventually made the trip and it was certainly worth it because today I have a handful of Anastasia’s Liquid Lipsticks and quite a few of her Lip Gloss too. One of my current faves is the Venom Lip Gloss. I’ve been wearing it off and on for weeks now and I really like the color and formula. A lot. I don’t typically do reds but Venom was one of my first picks because it’s so unique and beautiful. Venom is a vampy berry red loaded with fine multicolored shimmer that really makes the color pop and my lips look juicy and kissable. It’s a really beautiful fall red gloss that looks great on all skin tones and wears very well.

Venom applies very smoothly and evenly with a light vanilla scent and intense pigmentation that rivals a liquid lipstick. I was actually surprised by how pigmented it was because glosses can be rather sheer sometimes but not Venom. Even with just a quick swipe, my lips were completely covered which I found rather impressive. Lipsticks are more my thing but Venom is the type of gloss I can easily wear alone because it makes such a statement without the help of a lip liner or lipstick underneath.

Despite the full coverage pigmentation, Venom doesn’t feel thick or heavy at all. Of course, it’s a little thicker than your average sheer gloss but it’s very comfortable to wear as it isn’t too thick or cakey and it doesn’t feel sticky or super tacky either. Instead, Venom lightly hugs the lips to provide long lasting wear that’s lightly moisturizing and keeps my pout looking chic for hours. Venom lasts for around 4-5 hour before fading into a shimmering berry red stain that sticks around for a few additional hours. It’s been in my makeup bag for weeks now because it’s a great alternative to lipstick when my lips are feeling dry but I still want all day color with a little fierceness. Whether you’re a lipstick junkie or a gloss gal, I definitely think the Anastasia Beverly Hills Venom Lip Gloss is a must have!
