Clearance Chronicles at Ulta: Mass Haircare Haul
Makeup and skincare are passions of mine but I also have a serious thing for healthy haircare. For years, I’ve been learning how to style and care for my relaxed hair to keep it healthy and eventually grow out my tresses to waist length. Sometimes I get a little overwhelmed with life and tend to slack off on my haircare routine but I always manage to get back on. Especially when I’ve got a little inspiration! Which is exactly what I got this past week at Ulta when my store put a ton of mass haircare on clearance with some pretty steep markdowns. I just had to pick up a few things!
Back when I was on my A game, I would wash or co-wash my hair once a week to keep my tresses clean and my scalp moisturized and flake free. I’m trying my best to get back on track with my weekly washings so I grabbed a shampoo and conditioner set from the OGX Smooth Hydration Argan Oil & Shea Butter line. The $3.99 price tag is what caught my eye but after a quick skim of the ingredients I figured they were worth a try. My hair loves Argan oil and Shea Butter as well as glycerin so I was intrigued to try the OGX Smooth Hydration Argan Oil & Shea Butter Shampoo and Conditioner because they’re actually pretty high up on the list. The Smooth Hydration Argan Oil & Shea Butter line is meant to balance and moisturize dry hair and scalp so I’m definitely looking forward to seeing how they work for my dry hair and scalp.
When the natural hair movement blew up years ago one of the most raved about brands was Jane Carter Solutions. Somehow I’ve still managed to avoid her products but part of me wanted to do a backflip when I spotted the Restore Moisture Mist on sale for half off. The Restore Moisture Mist is a daily use mist formulated with natural ingredients like Shea Butter, Henna extract and more to strengthen, hydrate and help rebuild stronger shinier hair. I’ve relied on leave in conditioners to moisturize my hair daily but the Restore Moisture Mist seems like it would be a fabulous daily moisturizer for my parched strands so I’m curious to see how it’ll compare to my favorite leave in conditioners.
Shea Moisture has quickly become my go to brand for body care products so I’ve been itching to see what their haircare line is like. I’ve already tried the Raw Shea Reconstructive Elixir and African Black Soap Dandruff Control Shampoo with great results so I was super pumped to see the Yucca & Plantain Anti-Breakage Strengthening Masque and Frizz-Free Shine Mist for half off as well. The crazy thing about it is that I was just checking out the Anti-Breakage Strengthening Masque because I had just polished off my favorite deep conditioner and was in search of something new to deeply hydrate my hair and keep the breakage down a minimum. Next thing I know, it’s chilling in the clearance section waiting for me. I’d like to think it was fate! Before I started using the new Eprouvage Replenishing Leave-In Conditioner (love!) I was experiencing an increase of breakage. Probably from me not moisturizing and sealing often plus waiting too long in between washes. So I decided to finally pick up the Yucca & Plantain Anti-Breakage Strengthening Masque to see if it can get my hair back on track. It’s designed to promote growth for thicker hair while nourishing and strengthen strands. Just what I need! I also grabbed the Anti-Breakage Frizz-Free Shine Mist because I loved the Raw Shea Reconstructive Elixir so much that I had a good feeling I would like this one too. I’m planning on rocking a twist out this weekend so I’m going to put it to the test to see if it I like it.
Have you tried any of these products before?
