Spring is right around the corner but brown lips are still all the rage right now. I’ve been a sucker for brown lips since fall and it looks like the rest of the makeup world is with me because when NYX added a sultry brown beauty to the Intense Butter Gloss lineup it sold like hot cakes. Rocky Road was hands down one of the first new Intense Butter Gloss shades that were on my list but it was such a hit at my local Ulta that I had to wait around for a restock. And baby, when that restock came I was all over it! There’s just no resisting Rocky Road!

Rocky Road is a medium neutral brown with a very slight red undertone and juicy sheen that makes it look kissable and flattering on just about every shade. I used to shy away from brown lips because I thought I was a little too dark for them and they’d just blend into my skin tone but Rocky Road isn’t one of those kind of browns. Instead, it makes an edgy statement on brown skin that’s sexy yet still natural and great for killer cat eyes or sultry smoky looks. I think even my lighter sisters another mister would look stunning in Rocky Road. It’s just a beautiful brown lip!

And of course, the formula is to die for! The NYX Intense Butter Glosses are some of the best drugstore glosses on the market because they’re insanely pigmented with a plush, moisturizing texture that’s easy to love. Rocky Road is no exception either. It glides on like butter (such a fitting name!) with full coverage and a slightly thick texture that hugs lips without feeling sticky or tacky. Rocky Road actually keeps my dry lips in check without settling into my fine lines, emphasizing flakes or bleeding. It wears like a dream for around 4-5 hours before fading away into a nude brown stain that looks natural and doesn’t leave my lips feeling or looking dry. I tend to switch up my lippies quite often but the NYX Rocky Road Intense Butter Gloss will definitely hold a spot in my makeup bag for quite some time!
