Tarte Tartelette Eyeshadow Collection
Before the holiday season, my stash was pretty much Tarte-free. I’ve tried a Glamazon lipsticks and a concealer before years ago but they’ve never pushed me over the edge to really explore the rest of the brand and really see what Tarte’s all about. Fast forward to today and I’ve become a full on Tartelette thanks to Tarte’s recent Tartelette Eyeshadow Collection. The love affair started when I finally swatched the Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Palette over the holiday and decided to finally give it a try after seeing one too many pictures of it on that darn Instagram. Next thing I know, the entire collection ends up in my stash because Tarte did such a bang up job. Damn you Tarte!
There’s currently 3 palettes in the Tartelette lineup and they’re all powered by Tarte’s Amazonian Clay formula which Tarte considers as nature’s most perfect ingredient for better, longer and truer wear. The Tartelette Palettes are also infused with skin-loving ingredients like Vitamin E to provide antioxidant protection and natural mineral pigments to soothe and soften skin over time. The collection includes:
- Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Palette
- Tartelette 2 In Bloom Clay Palette
- Tartelette Tease Amazonian Clay Palette
The Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Palette is the original gangsta of the collection featuring 12 neutral matte shadows. It’s a rather cool palette with shades ranging from pale creams to neutral browns with a deep plum and shadowy black tossed in for good measure. The Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Palette is great for the anti-shimmer girl who loves a fresh, classic matte eye or the gal overloaded with shimmery palettes in need of balance. I’m a little of both so the Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Palette fits nicely into my stash. I absolutely hate shimmer in my crease (thanks hooded lids ?) and most neutral palettes are too shimmer heavy for my taste so I like to pull this baby out to get some mattes in the mix to define my crease. All of the shadows are pretty pigmented and have a silky texture that’s a little powdery but pretty easy to blend so it’s all good.
Then the Tartelette 2 In Bloom Amazonian Clay Palette was released for holiday and I just about lost my mind because it was filled with warm neutrals that were right up my alley. Plus it smelled like chocolate. Heaven! This time around, Tarte showed a little shimmer love by adding 3 lustre shades in the sea of mattes making the Tartelette In Bloom a clear winner in my stash for creating complete eye looks. I find myself reaching for Tartelette in Bloom a lot because it has a warm matte orange-toned brown and a matte reddish brown shade that are my kinda crease colors. Not to mention, the shimmers are very versatile and can easily be popped on the lid for simple, sultry or smoky neutral eyes with ease. If I had to choose a favorite in the Tartelette collection it would hands down be Tartelette In Bloom.
Apparently I wasn’t the only one going Tartelette crazy because Tarte recently whipped up the mini Tartelette Tease Amazonian Clay Palette for Tartelette junkies to have on the go. Tartelette Tease features 6 warm neutrals with 4 mattes and 2 lustres that feels a bit similar to Tartelette In Bloom. However, Tartelette Tease easily holds its own with 2 solid crease shades, 2 matte highlights for lids and brow and a pop of shimmer to really make eyes stand out. It’s a really easy to use palette that’s great for quick everyday use and travel as it has pretty much everything you need. The only thing that’s missing is a good transition shade which I grab from the trusty Tartelette in Bloom. That aside, the Tartelette Tease still makes a big impression and a useful addition to my stash. BFF is probably one of my favorite crease shades ever right now!
I’m not future teller but I have a pretty good feeling that this is just the start of the Tartelette collection. The collection currently puts me in the mind of Urban Decay’s Naked Palettes as there’s a lot of variety and a little something for everyone. If you’re looking for cool neutral mattes then the original Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Palette will be your top choice. Love warmer neutrals? Then you need Tartelette In Bloom, hands down. And for those looking for something small and portable for travel or a solid palette for your makeup bag then you can’t go wrong with Tartelette Tease. Just an overall makeup junkie who loves neutral palettes? Grab them all!

I’m glad you’re loving these. I’ve mentioned before that I’m not a matte lover, and even I love these palettes (I’m wearing the original Tartelette today). I appreciate that they didn’t repeat any colors amongst the three.
