Tarte Tartelette Tease Eyeshadow Palette Review

Tarte Tartelette Tease Eyeshadow Palette

Tarte used to be one of the last brands to catch my attention but ever since they released the Tartelette eyeshadow collection I’ve been more and more intrigued. The original Tartelette Palette and the Tartelette in Bloom Palette turned out to be a huge hit for me so when I received the new Tartelette Tease Palette for spring in my Ulta gratis bag I was crazy excited because I knew it was going to be good. The Tartelette Tease is the smallest palette in the collection featuring just 6 neutral shadows in a mix of cool and warm shades that’s suitable for all skin tones and oh so cute!

Like the Tartelette in Bloom Palette, the Tartelette Tease also smells like chocolate and features some shimmery shades to add a little pop to the eyes and really make them stand out. The Tartelette Tease Palette includes:

  • Whisper light pink matte
  • Crush taupe shimmer
  • Heartbreaker warm brown matte
  • Wink light mauve matte
  • First Kiss mauve shimmer
  • BFF plum matte

The shades are very cohesive and work together well to create a complete look which makes the Tartelette Tease Palette excellent for traveling. Each shade has a soft buttery texture that isn’t too powdery and adheres to skin well even without a primer. They’re all quite pigmented too with the deeper mattes (Heartbreaker and BFF) and the shimmers being the most pigmented. Whisper and Wink aren’t wimps either though. They just require a little extra building for full intensity on my complexion.

I really wish Tarte included a softer warm brown in the Tartelette Tease so I could have a solid transition shade but I still really enjoy the palette overall. BFF and Heartbreaker has become my favorite crease shades because they add great definition, blend very easily and pairs well with the other 4 shades. I also love Crush and First Kiss because they are such beautiful shimmers and add a stunning pop of color and glam with ease. Whisper and Wink are the least used shades for me because they’re rather light but I find that they work well on the lid when I’m in the mood for an all matte look with a killer wing. They’re not bad shades but I don’t typically rock such light mattes unless I’m going for that 1950s pinup look–and they’re great for that. If I had to choose my favorite shades in Tartelette Tease it would hands down be Crush and BFF. Crush is loaded with chunky glitter that looks amazing on the lid without leaning too metallic or glittery. I almost always use it whenever I reach for Tartelette Tease–along with BFF. I love plummy browns in my crease because they just look so good on brown skin and add nice definition without looking too dark or smokey and BFF fits the bill perfectly. It’s a beautiful crease shade that adds just the right amount of color to make neutral looks feel and look a little less boring.

Even though the Tartelette Tease Palette is small it packs a mighty punch when it comes to the formula. All 6 shades apply well and blend like a dream without too much effort. I also found that the Tartelette Tease Palette wears well without a primer lasting for around 8 hours on my bare dry skin before beginning to fade and some slight creasing with the shimmers. With a solid primer, the Tartelette Tease is impeccable lasting for over 10 hours without any noticeable signs of fading and no creasing. I wore it during a long work day where I was running around and breaking a sweat for most of the day and I still came home with flawless eyes. I know most makeup junkies would prefer a bigger neutral palette but if you’re looking for something a little more compact and great for travel then I think the Tartelette Tease Palette is a must have. Hands down! You can check out the Tartelette Tease Palette online and in stores at Ulta, Sephora, Macy’s and Tarte, of course.
