Tarte Tartelette in Bloom Eyeshadow Palette Review
The makeup world is still losing their minds over the Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette (so am I a little) but I still can’t give up my Tarte Tartelette in Bloom Palette. Not just yet. The Tartelette in Bloom Palette first made its appearance to the scene during the holiday season and I’ve been finding myself reaching for it consistently ever since. It’s very similar to the original Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Eyeshadow Palette except it sports much warmer shades and Tarte tossed 3 lustre shadows to balance out all the mattes. I live for a dash of shimmer and shine on the lids so I appreciate Tarte switching it up. A lot.
Along with those 3 lustres, the Tartelette in Bloom Palette features 9 matte shadows in a mix of warm neutrals that’s suitable for a variety of skin tones. The Tartelette in Bloom Palette is formulated with Tarte’s signature Amazonian Clay formula for long lasting wear and natural mineral pigments to soften and smooth skin making it a palette that’s great for sensitive eyes and natural lovers. Tartelette in Bloom also seems to have some trace of cocoa in the mix as well because the shadows all have a light chocolate scent this time around that’s eerily similar to Too Faced’s Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Collection. Since there’s no note of the formula being cocoa-infused I’m guessing the formula doesn’t contain some antioxidant benefits as the Too Faced palettes but I sure do love the scent anyway.
I’m also a big fan of the formula! The lustre shades are smooth, buttery and super pigmented with a solid formula. They apply and blend very easily without much fallout or need for blending. The mattes aren’t too shabby either. The matte formula is slightly powdery but each shade adheres to the skin rather well without much fallout either. The lighter shades are more sheer with a more chalky consistency than the deeper shades which apply much more smoothly. The lighter shades aren’t duds though! They just require a little more blending on my complexion and you definitely need a good base to keep them in place all day.
Without a primer, I noticed some very slight creasing and fading throughout the day but I have excellent results when I use Tartelette in Bloom with a good primer. With a primer, each shade applies and blends easily without creasing or fading much throughout the day. In fact, I can always count on the Tartelette in Bloom Palette to get me through a long work day or fun night out because the shadows last and last without losing their intensity or beginning to look muddy after blending. There’s a lot of great shades in Tartelette in Bloom but my favorites are the lustres (Rocker, Firecracker and Funny Girl) along with Rebel and Leader. They’re my go to shades for all occasions because Rebel and Leader are excellent crease shades for my skin tone and the lustres mesh so well with all of the mattes in the palette. If you prefer warm neutrals and matte shadows I think you’ll love the Tarte Tartelette in Bloom Eyeshadow Palette just as much as I do. Just be sure to wear a good primer for the smoothest application!
